It's nonsense. Sorry but we're a club having 32000 - largely vaccinated - fans together and they're asking for COV-ID at the gates, clearly deciding that football isn't for everyone. The un-vaccinated should be no more discriminated against than blacks, asians, gays or lesbians. I can just imagine somewhere like Old Trafford, The Emirates or Wembley inviting people from all over the globe to watch the game and the hold up outside as people try to produce papers, apps etc on their phones.

The queues and hold ups alone that this will cause outside will doom this to failure. Hopefully.

Gesture politics at its worst.

I won't show it. And will accept the refund from the ticket office for each match I'm refused entry.

It’s not about limiting the spread of the virus. It’s about them trying to make it so difficult, inconvenient and unenjoyable for anyone who opts not to take the vaccine to do things that used to be a basic right for them in the hope that will increase vaccine take up.

Yes it's called coercion

Did you know someone who have lost family ? I don’t know and and don’t believe in that shit what tell in Tv.. That’s my opinion.

I rarely get cross at a Foxestalk post, but this one is plain idiotic. You haven’t seen something so you don’t believe it. I don’t know if you are simply seeking attention with your nonsense posting, but your opinion is utterly, mind numbingly stupid.

Grow up.

It's freedom working both ways.

A person is free to not take the vaccine. Other people, in the form of society, are likewise free to protect themselves against the potential threat an unvaccinated person might pose to them through various measures. It's unfortunate that so many people don't really grasp that second part.

Practically, however, enforcing something like this probably isn't going to work logistically.

Exactly and football is for everyone and even for people who are not vaccinated

I’ve had Covid and it really knocked me about, so in my view if you don’t get vaccinated you don’t attend the games.

My NHS App wouldn't load up because of the shit signal. Do they accept the little vaccine cards as proof? If not I'd be ****ed if proof was mandatory to enter.

I meant to mention this.

Listen i'm not one of those who's on their phone constantly not watching any of the game but you literally can't load anything with the crap signal at the stadium.

I managed to upload a selfie of me eating a hot dog to Instagram at the stadium 🌭

Waste of time. Got asked if I had proof, went to reach for my phone and he just waved me through. Not a single person wearing a mask in the concourses either. All clearly just a box ticking exercise.

The checking was chaotic.   Mobile phone apps font work st kp.  No recording of results.  Just a big queue.

Given that vaccinated folk can get and pass covid then I take no reassurance from knowing I am sitting with vacvinated fans (I know four folk who currently have covid... ever one of them is double vaccinated.)  If they realky want to reduce spreading then negative testing is the only way... yet this would nit be acceptable for fans .. and would help with the govs push for vaccination .

I think the queuing to get in increases the chance of spreading.

I don't want this to turn uncivil, as any difference in points of view tends to nowadays, but:

The vaccine doesn't prevent people from catching or transmitting the virus.

Don't talk down to me, my ability to grasp a multifaceted issue is just fine.

It does however lower the risk of transmission and catching the thing, as well as the severity of it.

I certainly didn't wish to include you in the "people not understanding the two sides of freedom", that was a general statement on folks that I've witnessed out in the world and on here to a degree. Apologies for my lack of clarity there.

I'd very much like the conversation to stay civil, too. The past eighteen months, when it comes to science becoming politicised, has been...hard on that score.

What tosh. You can choose to be vaccinated, it's a person choice unless you have a medical reason not to be vaccinated. It's completely different to discriminating on basis of race or sexuality.

I'll be interested to see how else you feel aggrieved by the world and society.

Calm down mate, you didn’t HAVE to be vaccinated. They were happy with a negative test result or natural immunity.

No, everything yesterday was done by choice by the club.

I cant believe that what went on yesterday was anywhere near what would be required if things were mandatory.

This was simply an exercise to show fans, and higher ups, what this process would be like for stadiums, mostly designed to funnel people in quickly.

For those seemingly happy to get in without a check, they were simply tallying up what people had i.e vaccinations, tests, neither to get an ideas of numbers.

"WHAT IF I CANNOT CONFIRM MY COVID-19 STATUS?

If you are unable to confirm your COVID-19 status in a spot check, you will be advised that it may become a condition of entry for all Premier League venues going forward, but granted acces

The information gathered from these spot checks will help everyone prepare for a future scenario whereby COVID-19 certification checks become mandatory for entry to King Power Stadium"
