My rage levels were through the roof after this.

Ironically Brendan's boring possession passing was needed 2nd half but we just threw it all away.

Ahh well, we live to fight another day.

but where is our midfield? This despite (IMO) Hamza having a blinder! Him aside we were non existent. The amount of times they ran through us, with little challenge is worrying.

Youri gave the ball away so many times today, players dallying on the ball, and we were out fought and out muscles all

acriss the pitch.

not sure what’s going on, but it’s concerning.

I mentioned this in the match thread but unfortunately Vestergaard is hindering us. Don't want this to come across as me picking on him as I think he's horrendous but in my opinion.......

We are concerned over his lack of pace so our defence can't play a high line. One ball over top they are through.

If we press up the pitch our wingers and forwards tpress quite high but our defence is right back in our half which means that if the opposition break the press they are suddenly at our non existent midfielder and running straight through us due to the distances between attack and defence. We either press as a team or we sit and counter.

We'd be better off playing Big Dan If we want to play a back 4 or going to three at the back with Vestergaard in centre and Two relatively quick defenders along side him.

This is the irony really isn’t it.

Anyway, I've slept on it and some perspective is needed, we were in league one 15 years or so ago.

I apologise for anything I’ve ever moaned about with Puel or Rodgers. What an entitled little bastard I’ve been. Shamed.

It was pretty much exactly as expected. We were really poor. Just cannot seem to get going this season at all. Palace looked far sharper than us, and at no point did we really show any aggression or will to impose ourselves on the game. And let’s not even get started on the centre backs….

Robbery to get a point but we take it, and hopefully the international break gives us a little space to reset.

Grow up @Matt you're better than that lol

You've always raised some good and valid points but I don't get why you have to go on in this sarcastic way all the time.

I mean it was torrid don't get me wrong. A lot of what has been said in here is fair comment.

I'm not sure suggesting sacking a manager who has secured back to back joint record highest finishes bar the title winning season and the FA cup in his first two full years at the club because of a dodgy start is going to get us anywhere though. Pretty confident given time it'll improve.

I cannot really put it much better than this. Belief and rhythm - that's essentially what are lacking. The solutions takes time.

Is the 1928/29 season a joke to you?

I've seen Hamza criticised on here for "chasing the ball around" as if he should be disciplined for it.  In fact, what we need desperately is more dynamism, aggression and desire in our midfield. I think the problem yesterday, as often, was that we needed an extra midfielder on to counter the opposition pressing us hard in that area.  Ndidi, when he plays, and Tielemans have been overrun recently and haven't been able to play to their usual standard, so the team doesn't tick.

It just shows you what Evans brings to the team. He coaches Soyuncu through games and makes him a far better player. Having that solid defence is the platform our Midfield needs. Vestergard shouldnt be starting games for us ahead of Amartey.

Also why has Bertrand automatically gone ahead of Thomas? He was coming on great last season and now all of a sudden he is struggling for games. It was quite telling his lack of fitness/form against Legia Warsaw. Bertrand has been average at best but against Palace our whole Left side was a joke. Barnes worst player on the pitch. Im sick of seeing him do his 'hit and hope' shots straight at the keeper. He really needs to get training on his shooting and actually pick an area to put the ball in. Vardy showed just how to do it when he gave the keeper the eyes and slotted near post.

That was the worse performance of the season for me. How we were 2-0 up at halftime baffles me. Got no issues with our strikers. Carrying on where they left off. Vardy and Nacho carrying this team.

The rest really need to buck their ideas up.

Im certainly not of the mindset of replacing Brendan. He has been a class manager for us and we should afford him the time to get it right. Though the constant sideways/backwards play drives me insane. We have seen how good we can play so we know Brendan can get it right.

Yes, we are playing poorly at the moment but some of the knee jerk overreaction posts on here are unbelievable.  (we are the worse team in the league, we will get relegated etc, etc) quite frankly you are embarrassing yourselves.

Remember Palace are not the cannon fodder they once were.  At Selhurst this season, they have already thumped Spurs 3-0, drew with Brentford who frankly are playing well this season, and now yes drawn with us.  They are a lot better under Viera and play some good attacking football.

Choudary was breaking their play up, both him and Tielamans were misplacing passes not just Choudary.  We were worse when Choudary was substituted.  Vestergaard was not our worst defender yesterday either.  He made some crucial blocks in that 1st half and generally he was ok.  Bertrand and Barnes were the problems.  A lot of Palaces attacks were coming down their side and Barnes was not coming back to assist Bertrand.

It was a lot better than Brighton away actually, albeit at Brighton we were robbed of a point?  At least the passing backwards and sideways seemed to have gone.  The worry for me is we just dont seem to be able to see a game out.  Tis true, a top manager would have made his substitutions at half time bring on two defensive midfielders, maybe KDH and Soumare take off Lookman and Barnes. In order to protect the defense.

It was obvious Palace would come at us second half unfortunately like at West Ham we were again bullied.  Choudary was at least getting stuck in.

I cant understand what Ricardo has done not to warrant a start Bertrand and Barnes on that left hand side doesnt work.

This season will be one of consolidation,  too many of our fans now believe we have made it should be challenging the top four etc, we are Leicester City and for me as long as we stay in the Premiership and have a good cup run again I for one will be happy.

Really don't see what Bertrand offers that Luke Thomas doesn't. Poor going forward and defensively, surely we'd be better off developing Thomas instead as Bertrand is clearly in his prime and out of his depth. The less said about Vestegaard the better, again.

On a positive note the away end was good yesterday, numbers and atmosphere.

Lost just about every 50/50 challenge, this for me is worrying . Every team we play seem more up for it than we do . It has the feel of Puels last few months

This is exactly it. Palace looked so much better than us which is a worry. More effort, more quality the lot

Weren’t we hoping for that last international break?  Maybe we’ll be ok next one after this. Long season.

If I had just arrived from Mars and looked at this thread I would think we lost 6-0. Last time I looked we had the leagues equal top goalscorer. Things could be much, much worse you know.

I'm worry that we lost 7 points in our 3 last game against s*itty teams like Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace.

I'm afraid, we are in fight for a survival this season.

What a reverse of fortune?

I can go on and on about great demise of Brendan Rogers but what is the bloody point really?

I'm more worry about our overall situation as coaches and players comes and goes.

When are people going to stop calling other PL teams shitty, they are not. There are no shitty teams in this league , not even Norwich as we found out.

If we don't sort ourselves out in the next 5 or 6 games we could be looking at just achieving 40 points and staying up as a successful season. People talk about luck but we were gifted two goals today and still nearly lost the game, you make your own luck and we look shocking. We need to shithouse a win in the next couple of games. Going to Brentford will be proper tough as well, they look good.

The Palace players went into some sort of motivational huggle in the tunnel just before the start of the second half. Contrast that with how our players wandered out. That body language doesn't suggest a team that's up for it in any determined way. Which is unforgivable.

Now is the time for the senior pro's to get a grip of the squad. Big Wes is still around.

Well yeah, it could be worse, but that doesn't mean we should be happy that a team who finished 5th 2 seasons in a row, then had 60m or so invested into it whilst keeping all their key players is now struggling to better relegation form.

The argument that we should be happy because we've won a trophy or finished in the top 6 is as stupid as the one that got reeled out when Claudio was about to take us down to the Championship 'Well he won you the league so let him finish the season'.
