True, but I think winning football matches is the only criteria.

How many would be moaning about performance/style if we had won all 11 games so far and were top of the league?

But we havent won 11 games... and we have failed to win matches we should have... both in europe and epl.

This is frustrating... but what makes it worse is seeing us repeat the same mistakes over and over.

I was talking about future manager criteria, not he here and now.

As in people wanting a manager that played a certain style.

As in style and performance are less important if a side is winning

Romano just said on the United Stand podcast that there has not been any direct contact between Man United and Rodgers but he's definitely on Man Utds radar and Rodgers is aware of this. The board want to continue with Ole for as long as possible.

Got you.   Agree winning is key... before style and performance I would like to see my team improve by fixing issues  (eg set pieces) or changing tack (high energy first half... moving the ball forward rather than prioritising possession) rather than repeating errors.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I would rather watch us as a well organised and effective counter attacking team than I would a possession based attacking team.

I honestly have no idea who would be the right fit for us at this stage. There are no obvious candidates hanging around at the moment. Of the candidates that might be available, I personally think we could end up with fonseca  which could go either way.

the scary truth is that lampard would probably be considered.

Lampard is a bright lad.  He will have learned alot from watching how tuchel succeeded with the same group that failed for frank.  (Imo he should have be tougher on those who didnt play to orders).

I am not sure he is the one to take us to top six... but he will get there.

I would not rule him out.

I usually deal in left footed right wingers but I'll be doing some one off research on dynamic head coaches.

Criteria is:

• Plays 4 at the back and hates wing backs systems.

• Press like fcuk but can play the low block as a last resort

• Tactically flexible and astute

• Knows the importance of set pieces both defensively and attacking

• Likes to develop young players and especially from the academy

• Loves wingers

• Will consider a 6ft 3+ strong striker to have as plan B

• Doesn't talk dog shit

• hasn't yet been tagged a bottler

• has at least a modicum of success in Europe

Anything else?

You forgot 'Pashun' and a bit of fist clenching!  Can't have anyone calm and rational on the touchline, it is not the English way.

I would. Can't stand him. Doesn't fit with Leicester at all IMHO.

But that is wholly unrealistic and therefore likely to lead lead to fans being unhappy with a managers style.

It's two fold for me, it's about our manager maximising our ability and doing so in a way that makes football enjoyable.

It's also extremely difficult to be successful playing turgid football, and as we are a level above just surviving in this division we have a certain amount of expectation that makes it more complex than winning football matches.

Keep Lampard away from our club. He had Chelsea in relegation form before getting sacked.

It’s a more exciting style to watch, as it creates a basket ball game type of football. Unfortunately, we don’t have the players to utilise it now, throughout the team.

Whenever he goes we'll have known for a while. So you'd think we'd be preparing for a successor in good time, meticulously scoping out the continent's best, up-and-coming managerial talent.

Can't wait for a string rejections from high profile foreign managers before panicking and settling for cūnting Nuno Espirito Santo to further disembowel us with boring football

...we would have had to have played well, to have achieved that feat!!!

There are countless posters whom, after we have won games and the person posting, being ridiculed and told to "get a life, as if you can't be happy after a win...", "....you need to get out more...", or ridicule to that effect.

There are posters on this forum, who are not happy clappy posters, they look at underlying performances, there will still be comments, as there should be.

**** Lampard.

Think we'd want Hasenhutl.

What logic is there to us wanting Hassenhutl other than he's turned around two huge dips in form, yet a section of our fans want Rodgers out without giving him the opportunity to try and recover from this 2nd slump.

 maybe you should reply to them.

I'm really not on about the present, I'm on about criteria for a manager as in if we are winning does it really matter about what style we play.

To fair O'Neill played a lot of turgid football.

All I'm saying is fans like winning football and will turn a blid eye to style whilst a team is winning.
