We haven't been able to defend set pieces for years now.

Since Wes Morgan stopped playing.

get him in to sort it out.

I'm not really sure what he does? He also sits looking thoroughly bored on the bench. He never gets up and consults with Brendan like the others?

Kolo is  dumb donkey .  Remember his affair he was involved in a few years back with a student or something pretending to be a electrician .  That’s the measure of the man , a clown that’s hit the jackpot with his past .  Get rid .

I’m sorry. Rodgers is the manager. With something as glaringly obvious and repetitive as our set piece deficiencies, the buck stops with him. No one else.

Absolutely this. None of us have a clue what goes on in training or the dressing room, as much as the FT massive pretends to. The manager is ultimately responsible, and it’s a huge elephant in the room.

Kolo won't go, he's Brendan's yes man mate, don't think he's had coaching job before he hooked up with Brendan but I'm may be wrong. Seems more of a helping hand in training then a serious see piece/defensive coach

Everyone has to start where........

Spot on, I think he pretending to be a car salesman, that's why he was driving around in expensive cars, plus he was married aswell when he was having the fling with the student. These aren't professional standards I want to see in a defensive coach!

It’s the overall shape and approach which is why we’re so bad defensively. We’re east to play through. We could have Varane and Van Dijk at the back and we’d still look a shambles.

Getting a new defensive coach in might improve the individuals but it wouldn’t address our systemic failures like out disjointed defensive shape and disorganised pressing.

So our latest fall guy on this forum is Toure??

Is there anyone who hasn't been the scapegoat?

The tea lady... so far.

Our main problem has not been rectified in almost 2 years, if anything it has worsened miserably. Kolo’s responsibility is the development of the defence and he is simply not doing his job. If Rodgers won’t come out and take responsibility and just keep saying “set pieces is our Achilles heel” week after week, the buck stops at Touré. No more excuses, it’s not working. Regardless of the injuries etc, no back four should making calamities after calamities as regularly as we are. Time to go.

Mate, almost all of our first choices are out. Quite proud that they got 3 back with the available players.

However, I wouldn’t say no to a change - him or Brogers.

I don't agree he is being made a scapegoat as he is the defensive coach. Yes ultimate decisions are Brendan's but Kolo has to take some responsibility surely?

Rodgers and anyone associated with him should go, quickly too. Not because of today either, we all knew how today went so it’s an irrelevant result.

training

tactics

substitutions

all down to Brendan, all baffling.

The only way to have a cohesive back line is to have the same individuals playing each week and building partnerships.

We haven’t been able to do that for a couple of years.
The problem we have this season is clearly injuries- which compound and cause other injuries.
Fofana got injured with a horror tackle, without that injury Evans and Soyuncu would have been given more of a rest as we had trusted players to come in.
I think we all agree our best backline is

Ricardo Evans Fofana Justin - they’ve played about 10 games between them this season.

Then we have our second choice backline:

Castagne Soyuncu Amartey/Vestergaard Thomas -    All have had injuries this season because they’ve been expected to play on when not fully fit - in the case of Vestergaard he isn’t as bad as what he’s shown since he’s been here. He came with no preseason and due to injuries was forced straight into the starting XI, he’s slowly returning to fitness and I don’t think he’s been that bad the last two games.

Look at the difference in Man Utd without Varane, Liverpool without VVD, Man City without Dias, when that’s compounded with more injuries we have serious problems.

On it’s own Fofana’s injury isn’t too bad, when that becomes Fofana and Evans we start to have a problem - When it’s Fofana, Evans, Ricardo, Justin, Soyuncu and Castagne we have a reall issue.

Defensively it’s not been great this season, but there are reasons beyond our control as to why. Let’s not become the everyone needs sacking club and actually look at why things are happening.

It reminds me of when we had Kevin Phillips as a strikers coach and then we forgot how to score.

Now we have kolo as a defence coach, we can't defend 😂

We have to stop giving first time jobs to coaches because they are trash

In my opinion i’m pretty sure Vardys finishing came on leaps and bounds after working with Phillips.
