I've only just seen that the great R. Dean Taylor died 2 months ago.

An unlikely Motown star as a white Canadian, but what a voice and what great songs. These 2 are probably his best known but he did a lot of good stuff, judging from YouTube uploads....

I'll always remember the goal he scored (towering header) at Anfield in the FA Cup on our way to the final in 1969.

Great memories.

RIP big man.

Taylor Hawkins: Foo Fighters' drummer dies aged 50

I’ve seen the Foo Fighters many times and I was meant to be seeing them again in July at Wembley. I’m guessing this might now get cancelled.

Absolutely gutted hearing the news this morning. Likewise I've seen them quite a few times live and he was an incredibly talented musician. RIP Taylor Hawkins you'll be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

Really shocked, I was a huge fan from around 1997 and have seen them many times. Not a massive fan of their recent music but as a live band they are hard to beat.
It’s difficult to see where foo fighters go from here, Taylor joined early on and was such a huge part of the band. So much energy and fun. He’ll be missed.

This has hit me harder than any celebrity death that I can remember. Foo Fighters have got me through some of my most difficult times. Band members come and go all the time, but for me, Taylor Hawkins is irreplaceable

Wonder what it was. Heart attack maybe. Gutting.

Yeah I wondered too. According to BBC Hawkins had a heroin overdose about 20 years ago and was in a coma for 2 weeks, but he’s talked about how it changed him, my impression was the Foo Fighters were famous for being tee total these days. So I can’t imagine it’s an overdose or anything.

Pure speculation and hopefully way off the mark but could be a relapse, a lot of over doses happen because someone who used to do a lot of drugs and hasn't for years will use as much as they used to and it's too much for the body to handle after having it out of its system for years and not being used to it. Again, hope that isn't the case but as anyone who's fell in to the trap will know heroin addiction never really goes away.

Former leicestershire police chief constable Simon Cole aged 55. Recently retired too, thats a shock.

It seems a bit bizarre, but sad and tragic all the same.
