Noticeably changed our setup from corners. Men on the back post and in between the front post and six yard box. Good to see and hopefully gives us a chance.

That was way better than I was expecting from us. Diamond means that Liverpool have so much threat from the wings, but at the same time when we turn the ball over it's leading to chances and we've come close a few times.

 

Lots of good performances, but I want to highlight KDH and Thomas specifically. That's two of our academy products playing against the likes of Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho, and they've been excellent. Warms my heart to see those two and Hamza coming through and doing well for us. KDH right now is my favourite player! He is quality and loving the chant for him!

 

If anything our biggest problem is ourselves! Sloppy giveaways from many players and / or switching off at the wrong time, such as for the penalty.

 

Liverpool likely go onto win this, they are a great team. But pleased with that performance and showing given our injuries. Maddison again has had some brilliant touches, Nacho doing great with the hold up play today too.

Dispite the doom and gloom, from me as well, we've done very well and at least completed with them. 

 

Stop pissing about at the back, hit it long and wait for a feck up from Allison. 

 

The longer it stays at 0-0 the more impatient they'll become and we might get a chance. 

 

A 0-0 would be one of the results of the season so far for us

Really gutted we don’t have Daka for this. Think he’d have caused them no end of problems.
 

 

 

Apart from late on in the half he's been 5-10 yards off the nearest oppo player, giving them time to turn and pick a pass. It's like he's overdoing a pre-match instruction not to get too tight

There's always been a bias towards the big lads but it seems pronounced at the minute.

It was 1-0 and we barely left our half. Plus we had a full strength team out.

Significantly better energy and intent. Reds look like a team that’s had a longer break than us.  Last fifteen we really came into it. If we can hold out for another 15-20, suspect Brendan will be tempted to get Youri on. Hamza probably the one to give way. For all Soumare’s limitations, Hamza has looked the weakest link, for me.

A few things on the first half:

 

- Ndidi must now be the player who has given away the most number of penalties this season? Gosh he is reckless.

 

- Soumare has done nothing.

 

- Hamza has been ok defensively but he really needs to pass forward and early.

 

- Nacho should always start games. He is like a second no 10.

 

- We need Tielemans on for either Hamza or Soumare.

I’d question the pen - salah clearly falling over before being touched, contact not sufficient to make him jump to the floor like he’s being shot. Not saying it’s the ref fault, but maybe VAR. Matip playing some shthouse moves, and just seeing a lot of 50/50s being given Over to them.

Me and my son played a game first half. Count how many times hamza plays the ball forward.  It was zero. Not once.  I don't know what he wants to be as a footballer, but he is not gonna make it anywhere with that kind of play.  Hamza should have been everything KDH has become. He needs a long hard look in a mirror.
