Yes does.

not according to the guidance notes published on the PL site

- Players listed on the club’s squad list who are still available to play in the match, including appropriately experienced Under-21 players (which includes Under-21 players who have played for the club, another Premier League or EFL club, or an overseas club in the current season. However, any Under-21 player who participates in a club’s FA Cup Round Three match and has not played in any other first-team competitions for the club this season will not be considered by the Board as appropriately experienced).

Got to think if this is called off that the Burnley game may be a doubt too.

Brendan said yesterday that nobody will be back for Everton but quite a few (KDH, Timmy, Soumare, JJ?) will be in consideration for Burnley.

Potentially, but we’re due to have KDH, Thomas, Castagne, Daka and Soumare back by then at least.

Think that match will be ok if we don’t get any further COVID case/injuries, but that’s a big if I suppose.

I think the fact we can field a good side makes Burnley low risk. Brendan doesn't want 4 games to fit in. As others have said, a clear week would help.

Correct, although there's likely to be a caveat in the small print somewhere that says they can make it up as they go along.

Yes I heard that. There's quite a difference between being fit and being in consideration though. We'll just have to wait and see. Plus there's always a chance for fresh covid cases. Even with 3 players back we're going to be close to the edge on required availability.

I hadn't seen the guidance notes, wonder what they will do with round 4 onwards.

If FA Cup R3 doesn't count then we have the 8 seniors that played yesterday + McAteer + VDC that have played this season, so that's 10. Don't think anyone else has played a senior game this season aside from yesterday, so it would then depend whether they'd consider the likes of Spencer-Adams (who's played in the cup for Watford) senior enough for them to count.

Edit: if starters only then McAteer doesn't count, so 9. So if the club want it off, it'll be off

Rodgers said none of the players out will be back for Tuesday but if there's a chance we could postpone the game then you'd not show your hand in regard to true player availability anyway.

I think we should play it, we are going to cause ourselves a world of problems if we postpone all these games in January.

I generally agree with you, but based on our returnee schedule I think postponing this game probably makes sense now.

Having said that, our lack of available players because of our self-made injury crisis is going to make us vulnerable to Covid cancellations for the rest of the season.

So it’s a difficult one. As I said on balance I’d go for postponement but it’s not a clear-cut choice at all….

I'd play it. We lose then so be it. Get the game out the way. My biggest concern would be picking up more injuries.

More likely to happen if we play it and the next few matches with a limited number of available players. Even those returning will be more likely to pick up injuries as they won't be match fit.

It is a complete mess and there's no saying covid won't play more of a part in the next few weeks.

Yep, posted a comment pointing this out on the article.

Looks like he's realised he's got it wrong:
