Your problem, nothing to do with what the rule was brought in for. If it was any other team you'd be slating them unrepentingly.

Has there ever been any game called off before in the PL because of injuries?

We could always have faked our covid cases, I hear that’s a thing of late. lol

There isn’t a hard and fast rule for it being off. The Premier League Board decides it each time, the rule was given that no game will be postponed if a team has 14 senior players available but nothing about below that.

The rule wasn’t brought in for anything cos there isn’t a rule. There has always been the option to ask for a postponement, that’s not a new thing either.
If you can find a time a team has had to play with 8 outfield players available then maybe you have a point. I think I read something about Boro in the 90s but otherwise I can’t think of one

Probably not but we went the best part of 18 months without calling a game off for Covid.

The issue isn't really us as a whole but other clubs around Everton or Burnley complaining they've played against a lot of our kids whilst they had to play against our first team.

If I'm honest, I thought we could get the game on but given we're playing four in 10 days you'll have problems at some point. If we'd had a Covid outbreak after the darts we'd deserve a slating. We were happy to play Norwich but it didn't go ahead- one of those things.

Let’s see how this comment looks in a few weeks :)

Idiots on Twitter constantly going on about the darts like it was that reason it’s called off. Have a day off ffs 🙈 this season is all over the place with games on or off.

18th Dec - Leeds were forced to play their home game against Arsenal despite having 10 players out injured and had to put a 15 year old on the bench.

Can't see the difference tbh.

They were forced ? So they asked but had the request rejected ? How is that commendable because they were unsuccessful.

A management team is put in place to protect the club. A request was made and the powers that be decided to agree. Don’t for one second think other clubs in similar position haven’t asked the question previously. The management team at LCFC have done the right thing for the club. Fans who have issues (for whatever reason) should be directing their criticism towards the PL, not us. We did the right thing for us as a club at this moment.

Having said all that, at some point this season we are going to be hit with a fixture congestion so acting like this is a decision without long term repercussions on our part is flawed.

Probably the AFCON taking three players. The Premier League didn't make any provisions for this month so we're pretty much three players down before injuries and illness.

As I said, if we had to play then pick a team and get it done. I don't think we're trying to pull a fast one but probably concerned about chucking so many youngsters into league games and therefore the senior players getting no rotation.

Let's face it, we're all looking after ourselves.
