Yikes. Never felt this bad after a win.

 

I can understand, that we went pre-season mode after the early goal, but the basics are just non existing. The performances in the Randers home game and the Wolves game gave me hope, that we were starting to hit form and then we are given this performance. Its really hard to feel proud of this team at the moment.

Scoreline really masks over an abysmal performance.

 

You can really see what this Competition is all about, Full of sh1t teams, just some slightly less sh1t than others.

 

Key points were Nacho fully justifying why he doesn't get game time and Vestergaard justifying why hes up there with the worst players to ever play for the club.

 

Oh well. on to Burnley - Can't wait.

I’m in complete shock from the bits saw kasper made 3 punch clearances, it about time he started adding this to his game. 3 great goals. Job done.

It wasn’ great, but over two legs we actually battered them ( check out first leg stats) Kasper, Vesty, Thomas, decent….Lookman, Kel, Youri, anonymous, the rest average. Last four games one defeat, get everyone set up for Burnley & Leeds, draw tomorrow, and Celtic are out.

 

I have had an awful lot worse days as a Foxes supporter….sometimes feels we lose sight of what’s important on here, we won, we’re through, feels like some posters actually want us to get beat

Positives:

 

Schmeichel had a really good performance and I think I even saw him come for a corner twice and once he even caught it

Amartey – Vestergaard, actually kept a defensive line

Tielemans was fining a pass

Barnes scored and deserved his goal.

Maddison, wow what a free kick and his performance including his 2nd goal after that free kick.

Choudhary showed effort with his attacking and defensive runs after he came on

We took our chances

 

Negatives:

Vestergaard is very poor with the ball

Thomas went to ground to tackle to quickly and I thought his was decision making was poor today, but he is still learning

Ndidi very poor with the ball, he appears not to be playing the Ball-Winning role he used to

Maddison before his free kick, really poor, soft and uninterested

Iheanacho just looks low on confidence and his touch was below bar – needs more game time

Rodgers tactics were poor, dropping deep and increasing the pressure on ourselves when not needed.

We still just pass it between centre backs too often and with Amartey and Vestergaard it never looks comfortable

Gave away far too many chances

I think, much like the Forest game, the team was uninterested because of the "guaranteed" win ... went better.

 

In all honesty, we suck at playing on awful pitches...don't have the grit for it.

Thanks to a couple of superb Maddison strikes a win that has papered over the cracks. Will need a massive improvement to get through the next round whoever we draw. Has asked more questions of Rodgers leadership than answers for me.

Like to hear Brendan’s comments: 

- thought we played really well

- we controlled the ball well

- we were clinical 

- we were aggressive 

 

to be truthful we were: 

- bang average 

- off the pace

- shaky in defence

- 3 moments of class saved us

Sorry but everyone sticking the boot in on Nacho it's not on imo. He was rubbish tonight there's no doubt but all the 'that's how good he is' 'doesn't deserve to be in the team' etc is so far off the mark. Same. Comments from everyone 2 years ago when he was bang out of form but he absolutely flew last season when his confidence was up, people have very short memories. We all know he isn't the type of player to come in out of the cold and hit the ground running. He needs game time and some trust put in him. Something this manager has never given him either of. He's got so much credit in the bank but one poor performance and the fans and, more importantly the manager just shove him on the bench for weeks. Madison or youri can play rubbish every week for months and get start after start, nacho has a bad game an he's in the bin for weeks. Honestly I hope he goes somewhere he's appreciated he's wasted here and it's totally out of order imo.

p.s. "cancer"? -- that's a reasonable number to reflect the volume and quantity of chances.
