Along with KDH, gives us physicality and stamina in midfield. That's all the more important with Ndidi having to play in defence.

Some sloppy passes but he worked so hard and defended very well.

Going to take some flack here, but he was poor. On another day we could've conceded a good few from the myriad of times he gave the ball away, and I don't think he offered much going forward. The difference between him and KDH was night and day.

Still early days, but I'm not seeing promising signs from him.

He's got the game to be a top top player, needs consistency. Taking into consideration that's he's younger than KDH and a year older than Tomas at 22, I think he will be a real asset over the future seasons.

I thought he was our weakest player today, and was very surprised to see Hamza come off instead of him.

Hamza looked absolute knackered to be fair, he needed to come off

i believe he will get there, yes bad tonight, and hit and miss in other games, but there is a player there for sure

Gives away the ball way to often

no doubt on his commitment though, he never stops trying.

His overall contribution was fantastic but his passing absolutely whiffs. Needs to keep it simple and give it to better ball-players if he continues in this role.

People are way overly critical of the lad for whatever reason. There were a couple of players who gave the ball away alot today. Hamza being one and people are so willing to over look it for some reason. He played well.

Especially when he had some movement round him when Youri and Lookman came on.

He’ll come good, it’s his first season in the prem and he plays arguably the most demanding position.

He’s had a couple of games where he was outstanding and he’s younger than Dewsbury-Hall ffs.

Poor overall, but really contributed defensively last 10. Won one really important back post header with others out of position.

Did he complete a pass? lol

A TON - to the guys in red. lol

Seriously, though, while he was sloppy at times he put himself about in this TEAM win!

The one thing he did do well and could put himself about with was winning headers when they lumped it up chasing the game. Won a lot in the air!

Not one of the standouts but I thought he had a decent game.

In duels (ground or aerial) he will come out on top the majority of the time.

76% pass completion - 6th highest of 13 outfield players used

8 ground duels won, 3 lost - Most ground duels won in team

2 headed clearances

100% dribble completion (1/1)

100% tackle completion (1/1)

6 aerial duels won, 1 lost - Most aerial duels won in team

5 recoveries - 3rd most recoveries (behind only Wilf and KDH)

He reminds me a bit of Iborra - technically very good but perhaps struggles with the physical and fast nature of the Premier League at times. He looks a typical continental type midfielder who would be a Rolls Royce in Spain or France.

The big question is can he adapt his game to become consistently effective in England? So many have tried and failed but maybe Soumare is young enough and has the physical attributes to be able to give it a go.
