West ham under normal circumstances would batter us.  However, if we come out of the traps flying, going in hard on the 50 50s they will soon back off as none of their players will want to miss a major euro final.  If we go in to that game all guns blazing then I think we would win in by virtue of the fact that all their players interests would like elsewhere.

The problem with that though is that all our players interests lie elsewhere, and has done for months.

Swings and roundabouts.

Why? they didn't earlier in the season?

Its there to play for now. We need a bit of luck but we've been handed a route through this.

The team probably wont do it, but right now i've got to hold on to some hope that there is a result coming soon.

WW = guaranteed stay up

WD = stay up if Everton & Leeds both lose or if Everton and Leeds both fail to win

WL = stay up if Everton lose and Leeds fail to win

can someone sense check that?

Got to focus on top option

It's correct. We stay up on goal-difference if we win both our games.

4 points is fine for us if Leeds draw/lose and Everton draw/lose.

Results were lets say mixed from our perspective this game week, however they could have been a lot worse in the circumstances.

This. We had a couple of weeks recently went all, if not almost all, the results went our way, and one week when they all went against us.

You can't expect every time that the struggling sides don't get a result. But we've got a chance now.

Man - the Mina goal was absolutely brutal. Without it 4 points would have been enough - ahead of going to Newcastle who only need a point to clinch CL. Draw Win would have been a - relatively - very reasonable path to survival. Still going between laughter and rage at the posters who said that goal didn’t matter. Amazing.

that said - the fact we have been as appalling as we have this year and still are graced with the beauty of it being in our hands is incredible really. 2 wins. It has happened before.

Assuming nothing wild happens on the final day, Everton have somehow survived another year. Couple of guaranteed Friday night games for us with Leeds I imagine.

The PL have screwed up by not taking action against Everton for FFP breaches quick enough.

They should have done it this season but now, if they stay up, I think likely they punish them next season. I suspect any announcement will come pre-season.

How are we still not down with our shitshow....

It really would not have taken much to survive this season, but my belief is long gone.

100%.

Draw won't be enough against newcastle IMO.  They need that at least to guarantee 4th. I think they will go all out against us tomorrow.

A draw is about neutral for our implied chances of staying up.

We're currently a 14% shot to survive, a draw tomorrow and we'll be 16% to survive.

This has happened for the last 4 or 5 weeks whenever some results have gone our way.

And we've not capitalised at all.

We deserve to go down regardless what has happened in the last few weeks anyway, let alone whatever happens tomorrow. So many bad things this club, staff and players have done throughout the season mean we deserve to go down, not what happens this game week.

I don’t disagree with you on the points you make, however the players must see this is last chance saloon for them to redeem themselves, weather we win or not is a different matter

Very true. But….

if we somehow summon up the endeavour and quality to beat both Newcastle and West Ham, then we will have deserved to stay up.

Everton will beat Bournemouth who have nothing to play for

Leeds will beat Spurs who are on just as bad a form as us.

Everyone said Everton would beat Wolves (who had nothing to play for) and Leeds would beat West Ham.

Any result is possible down at the bottom.

If this doesn’t motivate the players for tomorrows match to put in a performance tomorrow, then we deserve to go down!

TBF you could have trotted that line out for the last two months. :D

But 4 points wouldn't be enough for us if Everton beat Bournemouth. And that would still have been the case even if Everton had lost yesterday.

I highly doubt the ref gave two fvcks about his chirping.

But there was loads added on yesterday. Everton went to 100, Liverpool went to 100, didn't the Arsenal came have like seven or eight minutes added?
