Dusty Posted 27 May 2022 Posted 27 May 2022 Mentioned this bloke a couple of times. He’s immense. Defensively really solid, good in the air, good dribbler and carrier, but he doesn’t create much. Quite similar to a right sided KDH but a bit better defensively with less of a goal threat. 1

kingfox Posted 27 May 2022 Posted 27 May 2022 I hope there’s actually some substance in this rumour. I wanted a player with a bit more about them to replace Soumare, Kone would be ideal. Can play as a CDM or CM, far better than Soumare defensively, plus he’s a solid ball carrier. Cheick Doucoure of Lens is another player we should be looking at, but I certainly wouldn’t mind if Kone ended up being Soumare’s replacement 🤞🏻

Has a tendency to go to ground under contact too often and you wonder if that is down to his balance or an attempt to buy free kicks. He does hold on to the ball a bit too long and his lay offs or forward pass tends to be underhit. He seems to love to bring the ball forward but fails to release players in space when the situation arises. This is something he will learn hopefully. I would still rather a more creative player in that position. Pity that the Soumare acquisition has not worked out as he looked like the perfect fit for that position.

StriderHiryu Posted 27 May 2022 Posted 27 May 2022 Good player. Quite intrigued how we will look next season. Players like this and Sangare are less creative but higher energy and more dominant. Kante by himself was not a creative player but he made the team more creative because he turned the ball over so regularly. Having a player like this and KDH would make us Liverpool esque but a lot more emphasis would be put on our fullbacks and Barnes. Seems inevitable we will someone who is harder working and more physical than Youri but less creative, which has pros and cons. 4
