An Sionnach Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 Madueke has hardly been in demand by any other top clubs. Why is that? He has probably been watched by dozens of clubs and no offers. Something not right with this player , he is most unlikely to join us but he may be a Sancho style flash in the pan and that is making potential suitors very wary. 2

Plenty of Prem clubs currently have an interest in him Just because a player doesn't have an offer at the moment despite interest it doesn't mean there is something putting them off 2

Man City had agreed to sign him and loan him to PSV and then Troyes signed him instead (owned by the same company) and I assumed he'd just develop there and then go to Man City if he's good enough but still seems he's off to PSV?

He burned brightly for several seasons at Dortmund, some more brightly than others, granted. But you can hardly attribute a poor season at Old Trafford as down to him being a flash in the pan considering how toxic Man Utd have been in recent seasons. Also, I'm pretty sure potential suitors are more professional than just thinking 'look what happened with Sancho' when it comes to doing their due diligence on a player. I'm pretty sure every modern scouting department has a bit more about them than that. 2

I wasn't overly impressed with him in the games against us last season. However those are the only times I have seen him play.

desertfox2 Posted 20 July 2022 Posted 20 July 2022 Not convinced by this at all, or our scouting anymore. 30m is paying for the player he may become, he's worth half that at most now. He's 20, gets injured a lot and if we splash out that much on him it wont take long before people turn on him and call him a flop. He may well become a proper player but realistically it's going to be a few years yet before he is pushing for a starting role in a team challenging for Europe where we hope to be. We don't have 30m and 2-4 years to invest in a player unless we are going to start moving down the table. We have some big players leaving soon and if this is the type of place we are looking at sticking our money then we need to get rid of Rodgers now or whoever is making these decisions because our transfer business since Puel left has been near the bottom of the table worthy. Puel had a great eye for players or his recruitment team did but was a terrible coach. Rodgers is a great coach but shouldn't be anywhere near a transfer. Hopefully there is no truth in this, at least not at anywhere near this price. For 15m he would be worth a punt maybe.

He’s not a flash in the pan. He’s had one bad season and is still very young. It’s nothing like the comparison you always try to make. 5
