Did no one else gave the ball away yesterday or was it only him?

I quoted somebody who said Soumare does not give the ball away in dangerous areas  nothing to do with any of the other players

Not sure why some of you are confident

Same old lazy Soumare who had "not worst game" because their midfielder was sent off

Both him and Praet will be same crap

Totally this. Praet and Soumare were being treated like training cones until gallagher was sent off and then they got some touches of the ball. We still then got scored on twice when they were down to 10 men.

So let's hold the phone on the 'they played alright' hyperbole.

“I just think he will feel he doesn’t want to leave Leicester and end the story how it is. He had a difficult first year. He’s done really well over pre-season. A few clubs were interested in taking him, which makes him think, and makes his representatives think.

Why not ask him what he thinks, instead of telling us what you think he's thinking

Perhaps he has and this is just his way of explaining that.

“He came to me in the week and is very keen to stay now,” Rodgers said on Soumare

I can’t work this out at all. Rodgers didn’t rate him, now he does. Soumare wanted out, now he’s committed no matter who comes in for him.

I just hope he gets a run of games to prove himself.

Sounds like the football hokey cokey

Yeah I’d say that’s probably because none of these transfers have materialised.
He’s realised nobody is buying him, so he’s stuck here for another year now

I don’t know, he was more combative than usual but did couldn’t get goal side a few times again. Difference was he just brought the player down which he wasn’t doing before. Moved us out of some tight spaces a few times. But yes, have the ball away a lot…

Genuine question,  What exactly is Soumare's role?  What does he do?

This was one of two articles I read which I found quite interesting (can't seem to find the other one). I only ever saw him in two French league games tbh and thought him impressive. The other article tended to mirror this one from what I remember but if you compare what is written, to how Rodgers had initially tried to deploy him, on top of being young, finding his feet in a faster and more physical Premiership, you can perhaps understand why he would struggle.

I definitely think there's a player in there for someone but not if you try and put a square peg in a round hole, yet again.

...that will be part of his problem!!!

If he is not aware of his duties, and Rodgers doesn't understand how to use him, how are we, to know what is expected of him.

There is a big player we can't utilise, if there is room in the team should Tielemans go then giving him game time might help us to fit him in, at the moment, no one knows what to do with him.

I think Brendan has made that quite clear

He's supposed to be a deep lying midfielder who while not quite up to scratch on the defensive side compared to Ndidi, is worlds better at ball progression. Think it was against Arsenal where Ndidi not being confident on the ball really bit us in the behind

Yup, think you've got it spot on there. Would explain our interest in Sangare of PSV too, who is essentially a hybrid of Ndidi and Soumaré: strong tackler, good shielder, decent at progressing the ball and press resistant.

Get rid of him and get someone who can be a 1st starter

http://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-man-surprise-target-club-stepped-deal/

Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare is a ‘surprise’ target for Galatasaray at the end of the Turkish transfer window.

That’s according to A Spor, relayed by Fanatik, who say the Leicester man is ‘experiencing hot hours’ as the transfer deadline approaches.

They explain that Galatasary have spent this summer building an ambitious team, but they want to make one last effort at the end of the window to top it off.

They’ve seen a potential ‘transfer of opportunity’ and ‘stepped in’ to take advantage of it after being offered the Leicester City man by agents.

According to their information, the player was offered by agent for a ‘low’ figure, with it made clear he is thinking of leaving the King Power Stadium and would be interested in the move to Galatasaray if it was offered.

Indeed, it was the player and his agents who contacted the Turkish club after receiving ‘a positive report’ about the club.

He reportedly wants to ‘embark on a new adventure’ following Leicester’s poor start to the season and would join Galatasaray on an initial loan deal as that could be wrapped up quickly before the deadline.

The deal would also include a purchase option that would be ‘at high levels’ although the exact figure isn’t made clear. His current market value is said to be €25m, though.

A purchase option that will never be taken up.

"Experiencing hot hours"- what the hell, is he going through the menopause, may explain his performances 😁

From the article it seems Soumare knows it's going to be a relegation dog fight, and he hasn't got the stomach for it, so he wants to bail out.

Just tell them to f-off.  Turkish and Italian Clubs (& Southampton) should be avoided like the bubonic plague, Covid-19 and AIDS.
