I disagree. This team needs leaders. People who will get stuck in and run till they drop, who will add steel and mental toughness. Not players who need a cuddle when it gets tough and who can't be arsed to track their runner. 

 

I'm sure he'll make a fine player somewhere but unless he makes some drastic changes then it won't be in this league. Thays exactly why the only times he's looked half decent was in pre season games where the intensity is a whole lot lower.

I think we’d be a step up. Selhurst and Beckenham, where Palace train would be a similarish commute from fancy North London.

Team need a lift as does the fan base, we need to get some squad players out and get someone in who can get in the 11.

This is my thoughts I know we need to sell but I think with a decent amount of games he’ll come good.

How people seem to have a view that Soumare is going to be a PL beast is beyond me.

 

He has shown zero evidence that he is up for the mental AND physical demands of the PL.

 

I see that Gray was mentioned on this topic and very similar traits…all the physical attributes but zero football brain.

 

I repeat myself but a CM who doesn’t track a man in EVERY game he has played in is not going to be some great player like some on here suggest 🙈

You know it's bad when you start seeing fans settle for what we already have. At some point all of Mendy, Soumare, Perez & Albrighton will have a good 45 minutes and they were the answer allllll along.

 

It doesn't matter how talented Soumare is if he tracks runners like a Snorlax would.

In pre season he was actually tracking runners to the extent that he could support the defender that had to pick up (because he was still wrong side) 

 

but that wasn’t a real game situation

We need to move him on.   This window will improve significantly if we move him,  Perez and Vestergaard on.   Hopefully we can sell Tielemans too.   It would allow us to bring in  a decent cb and a rw to balance the team.

 

Hope it happens soon.  He might be brilliant at Palace;   he might not be.   Can't see him being brilliant for us.

Going to Palace will eventually look bad on us.  If he goes there and does well,  it's a (further) sad indictment of Rodgers coaching ability, his supposedly biggest strength.  If he goes to Palace and is crap, Rodgers is exonerated but its a sad indictment of our recruitment team. 

Assuming of course,  Rodgers wasn't responsible for bringing him in. 

 

So basically..... shite.

surprise surprise a player slated when played is linked away & all of a sudden becomes a fans favourite & has been mismanaged, not cuddled enough & not giving enough minutes to show case his talents, despite like everything else on here non of us really know what goes on day to day in meeting rooms, training pitches, changing rooms, players homes etc etc etc

I think the majority of us have been consistent with our criticism of Soumare and his lack of tracking back, being wrong side of his man etc.

He said "was" so sounds like something happened last minute. I reckon the buying club will be trying to drive the price down knowing we want/need to sell. Or Soumare figured out Palace was in London and not France
