As the thread title says, what are you optimistic about or looking forward to about the new season?

It's a bit tiring focusing on the negatives and concerns so I'm deciding to flip it and looks at what I'm looking forward to this season. Doesn't have to be on the pitch, it could be to do with the match day itself.

Less games should result in us being able to put together a couple of cup runs alongside a solid league campaign. For all the negativity, in the short term, if we had to go with the available players and assume they're fit. It's capable of delivering a very good season.

Looking forward to the high press coming back. A lot of people have argued that we've played a slower tempo due to being in Europe and having injuries, so again, fully fit, fingers crossed we'll be back to pressing the other teams high.

Finally, we've clearly got a crop of very promising youngsters in the 17-19 age range. Hoping we get to see these lads involved in match days squads and getting some minutes on the pitch now we're allowed to use. Would be great if Callum Wight turns out to be a genuinely solid option for us. Then obviously being able to see Nelson, Braybrooke and Alves in competitive action would be fantastic.

I've got a feeling we'll see more of Patson Daka as a force to be reckoned with.

Hopefully we'll get to see Iversen in the cups too. Would be good to see more of Will Alves as well.

Jan Bednarek hanging up an inch-perfect cross for Vestergaard to power in a 90th minute header at the back stick to seal 17th on the last day of the season

Hopefully far fewer injuries would be a good start as we'd have a decent chance of achieving something if we can play our best team on a semi-regular basis.

There's a promising season ahead for another one of the young lads, for sure. Braybrooke or Alves are both looking like prospects.
