If we revert to type, Rodgers needs to be gone, regardless of the Forest result.

After Forest I saw a lot of "clearly this shows the players are still playing for him" - I'm not sure that argument holds any weight. It was a local derby, the fans were clearly up for it, the expectations were markedly higher - I suspect if the players put any extra in then it was for the occasion and the fans, rather than Rodgers. Not to mention that the football we played in the 1st half was very un-Rodgers like.

There could also been a touch of 'bollocks to that complete nob, we have some pride, we want to beat these and know how to do it'

The approach to that game was totally out of the blue and different to the total guff we've been served up for such a long while. Had Rodgers suddenly seen the light and departed from his much loved but flawed philosophy after all this time? Did he bollocks.

Same team same attitude same appetite same devastating attacking prowess  as the Florist game and could be another decent result !!

If we can play as well as Monday night then I can’t see why we can’t come away with all 3 points and a few goals to reduce the goal difference, I’m going for a 0-5 win to boost the confidence even more keep us on winning ways !!

COYFF !

Collapse against these was the worst post match feeling I have ever had, had to do meditation and genuinely considered therapy it was that bad, so for that reason a win and a big one as revenge

Rodgers has turned the corner. Of this I’m sure. He won’t quit, the board can’t fire him (10m 🤣🤣), sonhes knuckled down during the international break and got the players playing again.

We’ll spank Bournemouth 3-0 (bet your house on it) and surge up the table.

By Christmas Foxestalk will be full of posts saying ‘I never doubted our Brendan’ as we look like we might just make it back to the Europa League if we avoid injuries.

....my worry is that the board had no thought of releasing him, it was not a money problem, they believed he would turn it around!!!

The faith they appear to have in him, according to Rodgers's statement highlighting their relationship is very much total confidence and trust that he will look after the silverware.

Something changed, we won't know if it was permanent or not, until tomorrow, has he come to his senses, has he suddenly accepted that the squad available to him is capable of much more than he has them playing? I get the feeling that he has taken stock of what he was putting us through and has now gone back to square one. My take on this is that getting us up the league to where we belong is not a big deal, I never believed relegation was on the cards, but I would still have him out of the club in a shot, it really can't be too soon.

I admire your confidence, you have enough for both of us let's hope your right 😁.

We of course should beat Bournemouth though, like we should be beating teams like Brentford, Stockport, Southampton and Forest etc with the players we've got.

Ndidi does one thing and does it well. He breaks up play and lays the ball off to another player. He’s strong, he’s athletic, and he’s versatile enough to play Defensive mid or swap in for centre defence where needed.

He’s not a world class deeplying playmaker with an amazing passing range on top of his excellent ball winning skills. If he was he would be playing for Real Madrid.

Its not his fault, he’s just a human, and at Premier League level, those are the skills he has.

If you try to make him play outside his skill set he will do a job, he is a premier league footballer after all, but against other PL footballers if he’s not player to his strengths it will show.

Its up to Brendan and the recruitment team (not that we ever recruit and new players) to put together a team where everybody can play to the strengths and the sim total is better than the individual parts, and they are motivated and tactically aware enough to win more often than not.

I think that's what happened on Monday night players playing in there best positions and doing the job there best at.

I think we will see the same approach today.

Keep it simple, play to our strengths I think even Rodgers has realised that.

Yeah just seen that. I didn’t realise when I posted it. Bouba better turn up. Could be the making of him   I hope so. I thought he did well on Monday. Just give it all and track back. You’re a long time old with time to rest up.

Yes this is his chance of making the breakthrough...

Fans of got to give/show him time & patience.Though he also has to show

and give performances that he is learning & understanding the pace of the PL. ..He did well the other night,& that run & drive  forward was good to see. He is different to Mendy & Ndidi & can show us what he brings to up our recent performances..

Any leaked line ups yet?

I hope that Soumare proves me wrong over the next couple of games.

I also hope that Rodgers more upbeat post match conference is matched by our formation/tactics.

When did we last win at Bournemouth?

Feels like a long time ago.

...she really seemed to have aged very quickly!!!

The hair has been dyed and the school girl look has been transformed into an overbearing matriarch.

It is always quite noticeable when leaders leave their positions how much younger they start to look, pressure ages you very quickly.

If we lose to Bournemouth irrespective of the Forest result he has to get sacked.

Context

if we get spanked then he’d find it tough but I still think they’ll give him the next few weeks whilst we have winnable home games ….

if we lose a tight game, then nothing changes

a draw at Bournemouth is good for us!

A draw at Bournemouth is not good enough for us we will still be in the relegation zone anything other than a win and he should get sacked he’s very lucky he is here imo.

For me Rodgers has to produce a winning run starting from Forest of at least these next 4 games but if we lose today at Bournemouth I think his position should be untenable, and definitely Top should sack him.

Please get over this,  Rogers is not getting sacked even if we lose 4 0.

The question I keep asking myself is why though? What is the point, I'm not sure the club has considered our long term future and our manager and whether they are mutually exclusive. The longer he stays here whilst we regress is actually more costly to us. Its cheaper to take the in year hit of sacking him, given any prospective new manager, in a new era where we desperately need to cut costs will earn less than half of his salary. So the net effect this season is the salary of any new manager but the next 2-3 years we save on what Rodgers is on.

History also is hugely against Brendan, I can't recall too many examples of successful managers in similar circumstances to ours that hit a sustained drop off, with a seriously iffy reputation in the transfer market and turns it around. Some could say he's a victim of his own success but if he hadn't achieved what he'd achieved here he'd have been gone a long time ago.

I just think we're in an annoying cycle now where we pad along with very minor possibility of improvement but more likely dance with relegation and he's going anyway. He's not sticking around for half of what he's on here after a few more years here so in light of that, I ask myself and others the same question, what's the point?

- a draw at Bournemouth might be considered by many to be not good enough but the owner will take draws away and wins at home

You would think it would be the same team that started against F@rest with Soumare in for Wilf. The main question is whether Vardy or Daka starts

Agreed, we need 5 wins on the spin to say sorry for 6 despicable defeats. I could just about tolerate 4 and a draw.

Long before this season our away form has been a disgrace and you can't go losing 6 on the spin and be in the shit and get out of it with deteriorating home form and god awful away form. Something has to seriously improve, I'm astonished how 1 win against absolute pony shifts a good proportion of our posters on here in their responses to those that still have serious concerns on Brendan.
