I think for anyone who has played football he is so frustrating to watch. He seems slow in possession, gets knocked off the ball easily and generally weak. However I do think that he has always tried even though he could argue that he was shoe horned into various positions for the team.

The amount of posts saying he tries hard so he’s ok. 😂😂

sign fans on if you want somebody to try hard. Simply isn’t good enough and shouldn’t have played anywhere near the amount of games for us.

another spectacular transfer for a huge sum of money that was obvious when he first signed was never good enough.

You're spot on with this, but unfortunately this is where we are, has been for some time.

Piper & others have said 'players don't look fit, lack effort' etc.

It says so much when Perez is starting & looking far from one of our poorest on the pitch.

Not a bad attacking utility player, but I think he took the ‘false 9’ position a bit too literally!

I personally started to get irritated by him when it felt like he was being given preferential treatment over Kel who was playing well at the time and offering goals and assists where Perez offered hard work and not much else.

Not a bad player and he played his part in some of the best seasons in the club’s history, so I’ll always be grateful for that!

Are we even in a position to be letting him go out on loan? We’re pretty threadbare as it is

Need squad space and I would think a new attacking player is on the horizon. From a quick count, we have 25 registered players - with Thomas and Victor not needing to be registered. If we want a CB and RW, we need to free two spaces.

Perez was a decent player who had his moments for us and I never saw him down tools or fail to put the effort in. That’s about all you can say for him. Wish him well and we move on.

Whilst Perez is easily upgradable and getting some/all of his wages off the books 6 months early with a small loan fee to boot is appealing, I do seriously hope we’ve got RW signing lined up to tap in after this or we’ll be extremely light there for a few weeks.

He’s probably been the best player for us since the re start… we’ve been absolute toilet water though so it’s not exactly huge praise, that being said unless we’re planning on bringing in a couple of players capable of playing out wide it seems like a strange move especially since we’ve found out madders knees are constructed from the same twiglets used for his hips

I don’t think we’ve set up enough times to play to Perez’s strengths, but at the same time he hasn’t shown that he warrants having the team geared towards him.

If he does move on, wish him the best of luck, square peg in a round hole unfortunately.

I've always felt bad for Perez as he's clearly so much better in the number 10 role than he is out wide. Was always a bizarre decision from Rodgers to sign him to be our starting RW considering he didn't even play there much for Newcastle.

Always worked hard and did a job when in the team and not his fault he cost £30m. If he'd have cost £10m he wouldn't have got anywhere near the amount of stick he has from our fans. If he plays in his actual position at Betis then he'll cruise that league so good luck to him.

Betis is very close to finalizing the signing of Ayoze Pérez , the Canarian striker who plays for Leicester and who had become the object of desire for Manuel Pellegrini to reinforce the attack. As Relay reported yesterday , the chosen formula will be a loan until the end of the season , with which the attacker will be free in June to decide his fate, since his relationship with the English club ends on June 30.

The operation is very well on track, after Leicester -who will not charge for the transfer as was their intention at the beginning- has made facilities in the last hours to comply with the request of Ayoze, who wanted to return to Spanish football . In fact, the canary has placed the Betic proposal ahead of other more juicy economically to also help the negotiation to crystallize shortly

Are the club confident of bringing in another player before this happening, you’d like to think but I’d hazard we’ll be a player down (albeit an inconsistent one) and end up with a useless loan player in or worse totally mess it up and not bring anyone in .

Unbelievable amount of abuse the lad gets on here. Always tries his best, very very rarely played in his actual position behind the striker or as a central striker.

And yet he's barely scored or assisted when he has played in his perceived strongest position, which sums him up - he's a myth.

Good stuff, we need shot of him and the wages off the books. Surely this means we have a new rw replacement coming in.

we can’t let him go without somebody definitely coming in.
