2 of his games weren't clean sheets, the rest were. He made a rubbish defense a wall :frusty:

What’s the response been like in Belgium? Are people asking for him to go to the World Cup, or is he going under the radar?

Thinks s bit early to compare the two… but Faes it looks has more leadership qualities, talks more, organises more, something we’ve lacked when Evans isn’t there. Soyuncu barely spoke, Amartey will just defend (awkwardly) and Fofana was brilliant but barely said a word.

Kasper was the organiser, take him out and you can start to see why we looked a bit of a mess… Faes has come in and filled that leader void in my opinion.

End of the game yesterday when he and the others came over to us fans.

He genuinely seemed a bit in love with his life right now and an almost disbelief that there are thousands of a Premier League clubs' fans chanting his name with a mutual love for him.

What I wouldn't give to be in his shoes right now, plus you just know he's gonna have an utterly stunning wife.

It’s actually possible that Faes is our Evans replacement and we are still looking for our Fofana replacement

Soyuncu or Huth.

A leader, a bastard who's respected and has quality.

Someone whos gonna drag his team mates through the trenches.

Regards style of play, I see no comparisons with Evans whatsoever.

My fear is he starts at the WC for Belgium has a stellar tournament and then the big clubs will be putting bids for him in January.

I definitely can’t see that happening in January and we definitely wouldn’t entertain it.

I’m also less concerned about this in general as I don’t think he’s got the X Factor / wow-factor that Fofana has. He’s a really good, competent defender who can bring the ball out and pass and he’s just what we needed, but he’s just not as flashy or eye catching as Fofana. I don’t think he’ll have as many suitors.

Playing the two of them together would have been ridiculously good. Shame the little snake bottled it.

Fofana was a little snake, but I think we may be thankful we got rid when we did. I am not sure he will ever hit his ceiling with his injury record.

They're different players. Fofana is a Rio while Faes is a Vidic. They would be immense if they played together but it will always be a 'What If?'.

Until Chelsea come calling again.

Was gonna go for a similar comparison but as England CB’s.

Fofana is to Ferdinand what Faes is to Terry.

All that’s missing is for him to get on nutting in some corners. And slip over taking penalties.

Watched him quite closely last night.  As well as defending brilliantly, he was managing Amartey well too.

His fist pump celebration after that block was what you want to see from your players.

You’ve now got the players worried when he’s not at training because he’s told them he’s got a dental appointment

Better than Fofana? No. Let's not forget how ridiculous Fofana was just because of how we left.

But, he's definitely what we need now and we're better off with Faes than Fofana at the moment. Ideally you'd have had both playing alongside each other. Really Faes' leadership qualities should mean Soyuncu comes back in as that could be an exceptional partnership.

The long term replacement for Evans is sorted, it's now about getting that other centre back in.

well if you split hairs too much then you’ll find  no two players are the same. We needed a leader. A commanding presence with a bit of steel. That’s Evans and Faes.

He arrived at such a difficult time.  Anyone else might have doubted their decision in joining us but he is clearly a very confident individual. I think that might be rubbing off on some other members of the team.

This is it 👆, he's confident but also grateful to be with us. It's exactly what we need right now.

The confidence and commitment is spreading, think he's really helping Danny ward not sh1t his pants

Faes is here, has shown he can do the job, and wants to play here. That makes him better than any old Fofana, Moore or Ramos. All the talent in the world doesn't count for us, if a player doesn't want to play here.

Amartey is an adequate back up  and seems to shine when others are playing well but he’s not got the quality to be a regular starter. I love big Dan, but there are better players out there for us.

His attitude is unbelievable. He wants to win every header, wants to block every move and those fist pumps when something good happens are infectious. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call up for Belgium.

No need to make this comparison really is there? I’m just glad we seem to have found another ‘hidden gem’ and that Faes is also bringing out the best in Amartey.

Evans was/is no captain.
