Faes better than fofana?

He's utterly disciplined and focused. At the moment he's transformed defence - I'm not sure Fofana would have been as influential. At the finish, when the Toffees couldn't do anything, he did make a surge upfield - shows how seriously he takes his job.

He's better than Fofana but also 3 years older.

 

Fofana has potential to be better but right now, and for play, Faes is much better.

We always do this. Was the same when we sold Maguire. Soyuncu had spent a year learning English then came out like prime Maldini as soon as Maguire left.

This is it. Fofana is the better individual in terms of talent but Faes is a captain. Ward, Amartey and Soumare all look so much better with Faes around.

Only in the sense that he was a prospect and many already saw him as the great player he will become rather than what he is now: a work in progress.

 

Fofana is a classy player, and with the right coaching (plus less injuries) he will be an incredible player. But he's not Faes. Different type of CB. If we had been able to play them together? Phwoar.

Both fantastic players. For me Fofana has everything and is the better player and has the higher ceiling… however… Faes is class and is exactly what we need right now compared to Fofana. Fofana couldn’t solidify a whole defence single handedly. 
 

Faes is a beast! What a player. Get him a new 20 year contract!

He's so assured, commanding and keeps a cool head, yet has that nasty streak that we have needed for a long time at the back

Took a game or 2 to settle in and adapt. But now, christ he looks the business.

Wout is the player we needed. Fofana is a player with huge potential. I think it’s the qualities and ability that Wout brings that is making us forget how good Fof is/was. However Wout feels like a player that will be here a while and become a firm fans favourite and legend similar to Walsh, Morgan and Huth.

Fofana is a superb player, was gutted when we sold him. The guy as others have said is a Rolls Royce of a player. Faes is a different type of player and will be an exceptional talent also.

 

what Faes has done has made be forget about Fofana. I didn’t think we could get anyone in this good and we did

His leadership qualities are a bigger reason as to why we're out of the mess we're in. Biggest one being his quality on the ball, which is a big reason as to why we've been able to keep the ball and recycle it time after time

Obviously Fofana does some stuff better than Faes but Faes is a better fit for us. We needed a leader and a warrior more than we needed a ball player. 

 

He's improved our side IMO because he's a better fit.

His reading of the game and decision making is possibly better which is a huge part of the game.
