All the best to him, but not quite sure what Wigan see in him? Huge gamble on Wigan's part. Thought Nigel Adkins would have reasonable appointment considering he played for them for seven years, a probably knows the club well.

If some clubs didn't gamble on unproven managers we would be stuck with the same old ones going around the merry-go-round.

Of course that is true and Vincent Kompany seems to be doing okay at Burnley.

Hope he takes a couple of loan u21s in January.

I was just coming on to say the same thing, could be a great opportunity to get the likes of Braybrooke, McAteer, Brunt etc some game time

A bit leftfield this one. Best of luck to him. I hope he's a great success.

Knudsen's arrival here has definitely coincided with an upturn in form. I hope we get in another good coach to have another fresh voice and keep the momentum going.

...yeah, not many would have seen this coming!!!

Not sure we will be looking to replace him. I am sure we are at our full compliment.

I’d look at slightly differently and say no one of any statute is that interested in the job. Under their current ownership they are paying players late and sacked a popular manager for pretty much doing as you’d expect them to this season

...if you are prepared to give credit to Rodgers for Celtic's succcess, and the earlier achievementts in Rodger's tenure here, then as no one truly knows who is responsible for what in training,  you will have to give him (Toure) credit until he proves you right!!!

Another source here

I wonder if Knudsen was half brought in with Kolo looking at moving into management in the near future

it almost sounds like a joke. Did they really go for yaya first?

He will definitely beed replacing he's an integral part of the coaching staff.

Made no secret of his desire to move into management and extremely highly rated.

Oh ...and I've said it before and I'll say it again.

He's not the defensive coach never has been and never will be.

Gets stick here off people in a role thats he's not even in. 🙄

What is his role? Can't imagine it's attack

Just 'first team coach' isn't it? I think we just sometimes assume that he's a defensive coach or more responsible for the defence than anything else because he was a defender himself, but I don't think that's ever been officially his role at the club. I guess he's just been involved in general first-team coaching.

Lots of people on here get their knickers in a twist when Kolo is referred to as a defensive coach and make the claim that he is an overall coach. Surely that title encompasses both offence & defence !! In my simple mind that means he is like Brendan, partly responsible for the defence !!

I understand that no-one wants to step forward and claim the defence is their responsibility and we don't know how much Lars Knudsen is responsible for but someone made a dogs breakfast of it for the first part of the season.

Exactly, as a former defender there’s no way he doesn’t have any involvement in defensive side of things. He may not be solely responsible but he must have some involvement.
