Going to very slightly defend Barnes here. He is too isolated and carry the load himself, but a prime Vardy would offer assistance by being an out or drawing players off.

My thoughts exactly.

Not only is Barnes our only outlet but it becomes so predictable.

Look how many times their defenders knew to double up on Barnes?

We need so much pace injected into this side (with much more) really badly.

Typical Leicester. Only Leicester.

More gutting than getting walloped 5 or 6 - a game where we could easily have got 3 points.

What can you say.

Now Sky begin the big-6-washing, framing the narrative that Liverpool deserved to win.

You haven't turned off yet? I didn't waste a second longer than necessary enduring Carraghers dribble.

No yellows for Liverpool despite deploying the “Fernandinho” tactical foul time and time again, a young player for a smaller club doesn’t get away with the stuff that Thiago, Robertson and Henderson did.

With Maddison, more time from Daka and a competent ref we win that game.

Picked a team to lose and we lost.

I’m happy to shout Rodgers down but I’m not sure how that team was picked to lose, we had them in the first 20-30 mins, just game management as usual was lacking and we couldn’t hold our nerve with a positive style of play.

The ref was pretty red, wasn't he?

4 minutes addtional time?  Harvey Elliot was on his arse for three and a half.

Plus more time lost in injury time, then he blows up when we’re on the attack.

Disappointed we lost given how the game went, think a draw would have been fair. Happy with the performance and the commitment, miles better than Newcastle. The most annoying thing is, it feels like we don't concede good goals. The 5 goals we've conceded since the restart have all been preventable and utterly horrific. If you lose 2-1 at anfield and salah scores 2 worldies then fair enough. To lose 2-1 from 2 utterly pathetic own goals is actually depressing but has also become the norm that we are our own worse enemy and just shoot ourselves in the foot. All 3 goals against Newcastle were also piss poor.

Todays performance has given me a little hope though alongside the fact there are some terrible teams in this league. We should just about be OK but with the injuries stacking up and Tielemans already in leaving mode, we desperately need at least 3 new players in January

How does Jordan Henderson have the medals he has?

Harvey was useless and youri seems to make us worse now.

Vardy :(

I’ll won’t be sad when Youri goes. He’s made himself a legend with his FA Cup goal and some proper worldies, but his time has come and we need players with the heart and desire to play for us to get us out of this slump.

Vardy unfortunately his legs have gone for matches at this level. Sentimentality aside, I’m not sure why we’ve given him a contract to the end of next season, especially if he’s not club or deputy captain.

So bored now of this team, even when a team doesn’t turn up we let them win. Everyone will say we were better tonight and that not a bad performance at anfield. Truth is we missed ANOTHER opportunity and it comes down to a weak mentality.

Same squad, same manager, same results, same 5 minute implosion for 2 years. Sad boring and pathetic

This is a joyful place post-match as per usual after a defeat!

We played well, were unfortunate to lose and our manager played the cards available to him as well as he could.

That’s it, move on

We had a good 30 minute spell, went to pieces and Liverpool were abysmal too. Some of those cards available to him are the cards he picked so let's not let him off the hook so easily.

Relax ive got dyche's mobile #. He can work wonders on a $0 budget.

I actually know the guy who goes round his house to valet his cars every couple of weeks.

He reckons Dyche's Mrs is gorgeous, always tottering around in tennis outfits.

I don't really trust Steve's judgement on women though, he makes Iain Dowie look handsome lol

For all those desperate for nacho to start, I thought he added nothing when he came on, in fact I thought we were notable worse with him on the pitch and he seemed to slow down alot of attacks when the quick break was our best chance to create.

Whilst I understand it was only 20minutes, he did nothing in that time that would want me to be calling for him to start games anytime soon.

As good as the performance was, I think Van Dijk just hit the nail on the head in saying they were very poor tonight.

So frustrating that we fail to get the basics right and can't be stronger mentally.

Thomas and Amartey, while not necessarily to blame for defeat tonight, stick out for their poor distribution. Always feels like they don't get the tight passes right.

Barnes and Faes had terrible individual performances on the night.

We need a keeper the defenders can trust. Both Amartey and Faes between their actions and gesturing towards Ward proved tonight they don't trust him. You can't operate a functioning defence without the defenders trusting the goalkeeper. It simply doesn't work.

The positive news is that we got the hard bit right. We were brilliant in midfield and in patches played some really good football. I've been Brendan out for a while but tonight gave me faith that he knows what he's doing.

I'm hopeful that a few tweaks in personnel over January will set us on the right track. I wish we'd try someone different between the sticks, though.

We were fairly good. Though I temper that by admitting that ain't the vintage Liverpool. That was a very ordinary 6th/7th in the table level side.

How poor were Elliott, Ox Chamberlain and Henderson? Literally they played with 8 men. Salah looks shot. Needs his caffeine and inhaler boosters again. Then add a feeble Pawson who - against current refereeing advice -  let nothing go. Every 50/50 was blown for in their favour.

Very very very disappointed. 3 points thrown away.

I think it's possibly caught up with him now, the WAG stuff won't have helped any and we probably felt we owed it to him, but sentimentality makes fools of us all sometimes.

Never got a decent through ball all night. Madders back, Vardy party.

He had quite a few too work with, more so when Nacho came on, but also from Perez. No shame in it.
