Nah I’m not doing this with you, it’s a waste of time you’re such a fan boy maybe you think it’s cool to defend a terrible manager I recall you did the same with Puel. Let’s just say you’re in the minority still defending him, maybe stick to AFL.

It’s not about defending Rodgers, merely highlighting the lack of investment. But yeah, if you can’t come up with any facts to support your argument, then no point having a discussion.

I agree it's not a small squad, it's just a squad full of crap that we have shown too much faith in, and continually thrown money at instead of investing in new players. How much a part of that Rodgers has been we'll never know, but he certainly restricted his options seemingly over spats that he can't back away from, and when he has actually spent money it's largely been wasted on more overpayed junk.

And how would you judge  the squad of Brentford? Or Fulham? Smaller clubs with smaller budgets, who haven’t won a national trophy or qualified for Europe in living memory, doing perfectly nicely right now. No big names, no overpaid stars, teams playing to the strengths of their squads and involving every player in those squads. That’s what we need to get back to.

Spending 100m on a training ground....no good if we're in the Championship

That training ground has done wonder for making players want to stay as well/

There’s something going on here I’m sure of it.

How many games have the owners been to this season? I think Forest was the first of the season and not been here post-WC so maybe 4?!

Not signing any players, not renewing any contracts, not putting their hand in their pocket to sack Rodgers when it clearly needed doing (and will do again now), not getting any further with the stadium expansion.

It all screams of a club paralysed by not being able to, or not wanting to, spend money.

I remember his dad attended a lot of games.  Is Top bored?

Training ground been a major problem since moving in there seems to be no money, it is OK have a belting training ground as long as the team performs, which they are certainly showing they are not. You look at the team that beat us last night Fulham their training ground is nothing super been there a few time however look at their team performances. Priority is the points on the board after the game........ Investment is required in the team.

Can you blame him to be fair, we’re crap

He has got a business to run too, which has been battered by covid. King power could well be in crisis.

But in money world, its an asset that's worth money

In the money world, it's only an asset if someone wanted to buy it. Who would want to buy a £100 million training ground round here? It would probably cost as much to knock it down and re-develop the land as to what it's actually worth and then what would anyone want to stick on it apart from a golf course cos they ain't going to get planning permision for housing or industrial. It's basically worthless, and from what i've heard, no-one wants to work there anyway.

I know Rodgers is using this as an excuse to save his own skin but it's been written on the wall for a while that we are skint and it is absolutely nothing to do with FFP.

We aren't qualifying for Europe any time soon and are staring relegation in the face yet there still seems to be no investment and no player that is here wants to recommit to us long term, something is badly wrong at the club.

It's on the clubs accounts as a 100 mill asset, increases the overall valuation of the club and would be worth something to new perspective owners if Top ever decided to sell, so not completely worthless to the money men

Of all the complaints of spending, and wages, our biggest earner is Vardy.

Don't dispute what he's achieved, and how good he was, but how he's earning his current wage with those performances is beyond me.

Hasn't he reduced his terms in favour of another year? Or does that not kick in until next season?

The wage would have been agreed at the last contract renewal (where he's actually taken a pay cut?).

The wage doesn't change mid-contract based on performances.

The problem is the LCFC spending model, buy cheap sell for large just doesnt cut it anymore. Comes with far more risk than reward these days.

It does still work, but it was derailed by covid/financial uncertainty. Pretty sure we would have moved on several players like Youri in a more amenable financial climate.

I took it as we aren't going to be spending 30m or 40m on one player and will be looking to bring in few players in a cheaper bracket.

Though Tanner reported that our RW target was 'expensive'. What does that mean in this context? £25m? £20m? £15m?

I've long since resigned myself to writing this season off. As long as we survive this season (which isn't garenteed) the summer is where the real work starts and it's a daunting task that hopefully a new manager will be up to....

Out of contract....

Tielemans

Soyuncu

Amartey

Perez

Mendy

Evans

Bertrand

Hopefully sell on....

Ward

Maddison (If he won't re-sign)

Ricardo (if he's still alive)

Ndidi

Ihneacho

Vestergaard

Soumare

Hamza

Sign....

LB

Atleast 3 CB's

GK

Atleast 3 CM's

2 wingers

Striker

Obviously this won't happen but I feel this is what's necessary. Too many players are either not good enough or have a foot out the door and I think almost everyone on this list fall in to at least one of these categories. Freeing up this much squad space, wages and hopefully some funds with the sale of Maddison, Ricardo, Nacho, Soumare and Ndidi should allow the manager to work on rebuilding the squad and getting us back on track and hopefully Glover can help do that.

It’s mental that Amartey, Mendy and Albrighton are still here, really.

God love Albrighton but he’s really not at this level anymore. I assumed his contract was up in the summer but he’s got another year.

He’s a cracking pro but we’ve got tons of squad players taking valuable places.

Basically we need a manager who can work with very little and build, like Pearson did, not someone who can give you a bit of instant gratification that recedes into a painful decline.

Need to drop a level to achieve that I think, clearing the decks of the various junk we have assembled will be difficult, so go down and they will leave on their own.

Was our best player by a mile last night.
