Grew into the game. Debut up against Bailey was always going to be tough and was worried for him initially but eventually bossed it.

I always thought Thomas’ temperament allowed Barnes to get away with murder. I have no qualms VK will put Barnes straight.

The most impressive thing for me with him is his attitude, he's got supreme confidence and an obvious hatred for losing so he won't be passive when results are on the line. Love that

His standards are so high, not only Barnes, but I think Faes's game will improve with him beside him. Already Faes looked better against Villa. This guys a diamond, I just hope he carries on as he's started.

The way he played today reminded me so much of Fuchs but a younger version.

 

he looked to support the attack and did it well but ultimately he was solid defensively and stopped many crosses coming into the box.

 

he has that steel and aggression that we have been lacking at full back.
