I don’t know how i feel about this. If the going really gets tough, i’d much rather have albrighton go out to try and keep us in the league than most players. The guy gets what it means to be Leicester!

Not got too many leaders left in the camp

Exactly this. A guy with a bit of grit replaced by likely another nice boy who plays pretty football (which is exactly Brendan’s type).

my only thought, is that if nobody is coming in, this is just brendan trying to clear another influence in the squad.

Otherwise, a bizarre player to let go in our situation

Who's going to be the last survivor, big Dan or Jamie?

Oh Christ that's a depressing thought, Amartey is almost certainly going to become our longest serving player sooner or later

I'd love to see that, an underdog story within an underdog story. Imagine him getting a big sendoff as the last title winner.

On Sky Sports just now;

Albrighton in talks with WBA over loan deal

Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton is in the West Midlands right now discussing a possible last minute loan deal with West Bromwich Albion.

Albrighton is one of only three remaining Leicester players from their Premier League title-winning squad from 2016, along with Vardy and Amartey.

He has only started one Premier League game all season and at the age of 33, he wants more regular football at this stage in his career.

Sky Sports News has been told it is very much Albrighton’s choice to leave at this point, but his Leicester contract runs until the summer of 2024 so it isn’t necessarily the end of his Leicester career.

I know they're only interested in the big six, but I've not seen anything about this yet on Sky Sports or BBC Sport. Are we sure this O'Rourke guy is a reputable source?

Telegraph also reporting it.

Really hope this is not just the club respecting the players wishes against the good of the squad. Sentimentally can not be allowed in the precarious league position we are in.

Ricky will come back within days to play RW (back up).

Ricky always much better going forward (and had a shot in him).

I really don't understand this club sometimes. I know this is probably Albrighton's choice but unless we have someone quite literally waiting in the wings, this is really poor planning and team management by the club.

I was half feeling good about this transfer window, but this is really taking the shine off.

Never worked imo - he was always better running from deep - it’s different playing higher up

Clutching at straws perhaps, but you'd think Albrighton is the kind of character that knows he'd only be allowed to leave if we can get a replacement in. He's not an arse who'd kick off for playing time.

If he wants more game time then fair enough, but letting him go without getting a replacement in is bizarre.

Being more short in the wing position after January, would sum up our transfer dealings over the past year or so, idiotic.

Shouldnt be sanctioned this. Leicesters Premier league status is more important then Albrighton wanting game time and i feel far more confident we will stay up if hes still around. Would be a massive miss in the dressing room.

This would be a surprise if we are not bringing anyone else in.

What a player for us though. Signed for a free and nearly left because he couldn’t get in the side. Despite that difficult start he’s been part of every major moment in the last few years. The great escape, the PL win, CL quarters, Top 6 finishes and the Fa Cup win. Legend. He should be back as Birch’s long term successor in a few years.
