If their manager has anything about him he'll have them pressing us high when we're pissing around with the ball and feed on the mistakes. If we do beat the initial press then all you have to do is get back in shape quickly as we'll look to pass the ball back to keep it safe rather than try and attack. 

 

If they just leave big chasms of obvious space, then they'll be in trouble. Depends how much their heart is in it, but judging by last night, the asnwer to that is not a lot.

I fully expect Chelsea to put 3 or 4 past us.

 

We went there earlier in the season when they were awful and just been beaten 3-0 by Leeds. Rodgers absolutely bottled it and has us playing conservative even when they were down to 10 men.

I’m not as anti Brendan as some, but it is the Southampton game at home that convinced me we needed a change in direction. They beat us comfortably by just raising the tempo and not through any particular skill. Passion and commitment are something that the manager has to instil in the players. 
 

I’m never confident when we go into matches like this as I think Southampton could easily beat us just by putting a shift in. We have to be up for this or we lose

As someone on here mentioned after the game the other night, you don't need quality to beat us, you just have to want to win.

 

That's inexcusable and if Rodgers cannot sort that aspect out for this game we're as good as gone imo.

How can anyone question why Brendan wouldn't call this game a ‘must win’.  (In public) 

if he says it’s must win and we don’t win then he opens up a whole line of questioning that he doesn’t want to face

 

if we were in danger of relegation and there were only a few games left then he probably would say it’s must win - I guarantee that the players know he thinks it’s a must win game - context is everything

Still rests largely on Maddison being available. It terrifies me how ill equipped the midfield is without him.

They showed him training on instagram today so I think he’s good to go.

 

I think he’s the difference between us staying up or not.

Take Maddison and Tielemans out of that midfield and we look weak. Soumare and KDH constantly giving the ball away, Ndidi who's gone from a midfield enforcer to being shot of confidence and Praet who hardly plays. I've batted away any idea of us being relegated this season but after watching that sh*t on Tuesday i am now officially in the we might actually go down this season camp. Even when we've played well and picked up points the teams around us have done the same and we haven't backed it up.

 

That being said i'm definitely not joining lets boo the fu*k out of the team for 90 mins and make everything worse camp. That would make me twat.

I'm genuinely concerned for us if we don't get a result here and I'm sure the players will have that in the back of their minds.. This really comes down to how motivated and psychologically prepared they are as we are a much better team on paper quality wise.
