4th in the Championship but without their two best players.

We've been crap all season. We have lost games with our best XI out. Thus it was always going to be a difficult game.

We took them for granted and it backfired.

We will be better than we were against Blackburn.

For a start we will have a more solid back 4 and Nacho starting.

Also Southampton did even worse than us in the FA Cup

After tonights results a win here is absolutely massive.  We would be 9 points ahead of this lot and a further 3 ahead of Wolves and 6 ahead of Everton.  As I said earlier though, no Maddison, no win.  The incentive to win though is massive.

So did Spurs. It’s because too many clubs play weakened line ups in the arrogant expectation that teams from lower divisions will just roll over. They never had and they never will.

We beat ourselves last night by playing people like Amartey, Soumare and Thomas.

Just absolutely sickening to think we could get beat 3-0 here and he'll probably still be at least 10/1 to be sacked next,

Not sure about that, Blackburn are 4th in the Championship. Playing a weaker team was always going to be somewhat risky. I understand the thinking but it backfired.

One thing to say, Jon-Dahl Tomasson is doing a great job there! He could well be a contender for a job with us in the future. It will be interesting to follow his managerial career.

Well that's the same thing in my opinion.

I'm certainly not defending Rodgers, but I understand why he went the way he did. Plenty of other managers have done it in the past and it's also backfired for them too. If we lose or draw to Southampton it will look like an even worse decision though, that's for sure.

Hold the fort , if I remember the rovers team had massive changes as well through injury , so that even makes are effort worst

We're winning this. Not because I think we're remotely good at all, but because Maddison is.

Is he not a part of our side?

Rightly or wrongly, it's probably not arrogance but more that the club, compared to staying in the Premiership, don't give a flying fig about the FA Cup. The implications of going down are far greater than whether we win a domestic cup competition that offers little financially to a 'business'.

Even with those three players in we should have had enough of a team to put up a far better performance. The problems run far deeper than that and there's no point pretending otherwise.

I think you’re probably right. Personally I’d take relegation if it meant us winning the cup again though. I’m sure a lot of us would.

I think we’ll win on Saturday.

Their whole game plan will be to wait for Faes to charge into someone on the edge of our box and let Ward Prowse do the rest. We will probably dominate the game then get done by 4 free kicks or something stupid

Exactly. Us fans, especially those of us who grew up with the FA Cup being a seriously big thing, find it very hard to come to terms with the fact that to young people, and to the clubs, it's now completely insignificant. Nice enough if you happen to win it, but not worth putting in any real effort.

If Ward-Prowse gets any direct free kicks can we put a player at each post (maybe Vestergaard does have a purpose in life after all) otherwise all I can see is a delayed somersault from Ward as it goes inside the post out of his reach?

Or Pick that Smithers chap :dunno:

Since January they've actually kept games quite tight, they'll have watched the Blackburn game and realised all you have to do is press us aggressively. Whereas our plan is rely on Maddison, Iheanacho or Barnes to do something special. Warra effective long term plan that is!

0-0 bore draw.. nailed on.

We’ve not been drawing games this season and it’s costing us, even turning 3 defeats into draws we’d be in a far better position.
The weak minded players and lack of fight when the chips are down only leads to defeat.
That being said I’d take a 0-0 now.

Got absolutely no desire to watch this. Even if we shithouse a result it will be a miserable watch.

I imagine the viewing figures for it will be very low!

Anyone watching this will surely be from behind the sofa !  Concede the obligatory first goal and down hill from there on.

It might seem like a backwards step but I'd like to see Mendy and Ndidi play together to add a bit of solidity to the team. It would allow our fullbacks to push on more, especially if Ricky is back playing, and we should have more than enough quality going forward with Maddison, Nacho, Barnes and Tete. I can never call out KDH for a lack of effort, I just think he could do with a rest. Ndidi's form has been horrible but having Mendy alongside him might help and it also adds height to the team to defend against set pieces

I agree with this. KDH has been really poor lately. Ndidi and Mendy gives us a solid base and I back that front 4 to provide one or two goals.
