Whisper it quietly, but we might be better off sticking with Brendan.

The players havent fully given up on him and we dont appear to have an internal candidate who can step in to steer us through until the end of the season.

The list of options for palace was sickening... theres no way id prefer roy hodgson here.  Cross your fingers and hope for a miracle!

...Hodgson will be a short term fix!!!

Why would you be looking at them in relation to us. They took a chance on a manager that did nit work out and are brave enough to attempt to rescue the situation instead of doing nothing and hoping for the best.

Will Still on tonights 5live episode was a good listen. Humble, down to earth and knowledgable about the modern game.

Him or Arne Slot would be perfect for us.

Nah mate - couldn’t even beat shitty little Lcfc in the CL …..

Ironically they are also 2 points above relegation in an arguably less competitive league lol

Jorge Sampaoli.

His win record is pretty impressive, the problem is he never stays anywhere more than a season or two. I'd take him if we could guarantee he would stay and build. If he came now we would be his 7th club in 7 years.

Wow Sampoli is going to become free after all. That’s one of the few managers I can think of that has the sort of pedigree and experience we’d be after. I’d say he’s got a similar profile to Emery and Lopetgui.

More the sort of manager a club would appoint in the summer, and probably more for a club that is not at the start of a rebuild. But I believe he has done it before.

He’s never struck me as someone that wants to manage in England but you never know…

If Palace go and make a decent left field appointment (like Brighton and Wolves have done already), than that really should be the final nail in the coffin for the "who else is there" argument.

There are so many managers who I think we could tempt in the summer. With Poch, Zidane, Conte and Tuchel all being available, the really big jobs will go to them. I think the following would therefore be tempted by us.

Arne Slot

Vincent Kompany

Christoph Galtier (surely won't be at PSG too long)

Frank Haise

Jorge Sampaoli

Sergio Conceicao

So many options!!

Hodgson being re-appointed is probably worse than if we went and gave it O'Neill until the end of the season.

What on earth are they doing?

They have the squad to play really attractive front foot football and bring in Hodgson! He can be effective yeah but I'm no more confident in them staying up than I was under Vieria.

I feel like for the next two weeks, prior to their game against us, he’ll be doing the old mannequin training , where his players stand still for the majority of sessions and work on shape without the ball. Perfect to play us and our 70% possession at Selhurst Park.

Christoph Galtier was the one I wanted here a few years ago. Once he went to PSG I gave up hope he'd ever come here.

...you would suspect that Hodgson is still close to the chairman and offered his services!!!

Much like us using Stowell and Sadler for the last few games.

Fvcking weird if Lopetegui, Sampaoli and Emery are all managing in the English Midlands at the same time.

Assembling the triforce of Sevilla coaches.

Sampaoli is muck compared to Lopetegui and Emery though IMO. I'd have him here for a year but I doubt he'd achieve much but would at least shake things up significantly.

Him and Cambiasso as his number two would be the dream team. :scarf:

He was also hovering close to taking one of the biggest clubs in Spain down and got turned over by Craig Shakespeare.

They'd fall out with everyone. Sampaoli or a Conte-type is the last sort of character I'd want. They all seem to kill players confidence or create unnecessary drama.

So what does Rodgers do to the players?

Yep, one of our finest ever nights.

In the first leg they absolutely murdered us and the tie should have been over, other than some heroics from Schmeichel.

Leicester are never going to employ a serial winner, we are going to go for coaches that are a tier down. Sampoli has managed Marseille, Sevilla (twice) and Argentina. Very decent pedigree, and plays good football. Could be a train wreck, but might also be a lot of fun. I can think of a lot worse managers to appoint.
