Burnley placed under a transfer embargo.

If if it’s upheld, they’re getting promoted anyway so it won’t matter. Kompany’s not coming here this season.

This is what I keep settling on and then if we stay up then go all out for Arne Slot or Kompany in the summer.

I think Knudsen would do a job. And I agree with Slot, he would be an excellent choice.

Even if we stay up Slot will be a tough sell.  He may have bigger clubs after him.

Agreed, but the project may interest him if we are serious enough.

Part of me hopes that the ability to reshape the squad in their own mould makes it attractive for someone like Slot.

I look what he’s done to a clogger like Trauner and yes please, I’ll have some of that to sort out our CBs

BR and Maddison to Chelsea, Arne Slot and the lad Kokcu from Feyenood as replacements.

If we have to sell Maddison this summer I'd rather sell to abroad but Chelsea would pay way more I'd imagine.

I don't know why but i'm thinking Steven Gerrard.  The guy is a proven winner on the pitch and off it to a extent.  He did well when first at Aston Villa , but then his coach left for QPR and things went to crap for him.  If we can provide a good team around Steve I think his raw passion and drive would inject alot of winning mentality in a warrior way into us. Combine that with our recruitment, interesting potential. Steve is still developing but I think he would be great for us for 3/4 years before he heads off to Anfield.   BUT we need to firstly SURVIVE

It would be a horrendous appointment. What on earth makes you think he would be 'great for us', or that he's going to manage Liverpool one day? He's achieved nothing to support either of those claims.

You've kind of made the point where he shouldn't be employed. Plenty were saying in his spell at Rangers that Beale was the real brains behind the operation.

If we sack Rodgers (yeah I know fat chance), you know we won't have a De Zerbi style plan in place and it will be a choice from whoever applies and the usual suspects.

Marsch?

Hassenhutl?

Gerrard?

We should always have targets in mind for replacing a manager.

The need for a new manager can arrive at any moment.

Then again we do seem to be a ship without a rudder atm. The riders we have seems to have no idea of direction.

Maybe put Rudkin in the taxi with Rodgers.

I’m genuinely of the belief that an interim keeps us up.

We’re not witnessing a manager that has lost the dressing room, we’re witnessing a squad carrying out without question and imagination a game plan that has long gone stale.

A fresh voice, a change of tactical approach. I’m convinced there’s enough quality in that squad to be enough (it’s a squad that should be top half IMO).

So many good managers we could get in the summer, we just need to make it there.

I actually still think we scrape by with Brendan but an interim would see us easily clear of danger by end of April.

Will not stop banging the drum for Esteban as that man.

What has Estaban done since he left us? Has he done enough to convince that he would be effective for us? What is his current job?
