The way this thread has gone just shows how desperate we have become. Are people seriously wanting dinosaurs like O’Neill and Colin willy puller?

As the title said, it's realistic appointments.

I also think that even though it was a long time ago, an experienced manager like O'Neill who has had consistent success in the top flight is a safer bet for the situation we are in than some 'glamorous' manager who somebody has watched a 2 minute YouYube highlight video of or is good on Championship Manager.

Admittedly, a lot of this is based on nostalgia and dreaming of having the same enjoyment for the club as I had in my childhood! lol

Allerdyce Redknapp Mickey Mouse til the end of the season can’t do as bad as Rodgers has this season, Seriously tho the squad needs a kick up the Arse to fight for their PL survival and with Brendan at the helm it seems near impossible but we need to dig in grind out the results,  some of the players need to realise it’s not a joke saying we’ll be ok some will be moving onto PL clubs in the summer won’t have to struggle in the Championship if we go down ( I still don’t think we will !)

Yes we need a reset in the Summer and for heavens sake hope the board and Top realise it’s not with Brendan, it’s hard very hard watching our performances at times but the Villa and Spuds games shows how we can destroy teams when the mindset is there so ffs get that mindset back stop Fuching around LEICESTER and start to get positive results before it’s too late !!

Colin Willy puller could maybe get Soumare to kick a ball

What has Estaban done since he left us? Has he done enough to convince that he would be effective for us? What is his current job?

Nothing other than assistant with Colombia.  I saw somewhere that he's in the frame for Argentina U23s but my point really is it wouldn't taken anyone proven to get us out of this mess. Just someone to lift the atmosphere. He's also vastly experienced, and with experience at the club in a relegation scrap.

If Rodgers goes (which won't happen), I agree with others on here that it will likely be Knudsen who takes over.

There's probably a good list of exciting names we'd have been able to get in the middle of the season but with only a handful of games now I feel like our options would be severely limited.

I would 100% take O’Neil over Rodgers in a relegation battle. O’Neil would make the players feel 6ft 6 walking out to the pitch, Rodgers makes them feel about 3ft 5.

O’Neil would play his strongest team available and not be worrying about the opposition and try to base the team around that.

O’Neil would give the players direction during the game and not just write notes for once the game is finished.

O’Neil wouldn’t constantly play players out of position. It wouldn’t take him long to realise that Madders was our best CM and not an ‘inverted right winger’

O’Neil would get this team firing for the remainder of the season:

Ward

Ricardo Souttar Evans Faes Castagna

Mendy Ndidi

Maddison

Kelchi Vardy

Did he get relegated with Sunderland?

Thanks for that.  I hadn't followed his progress since he left us.  I agree that any manager other than Rodgers would give us a lift and that includes the temporary appointment of someone from within the club.  We just need to allow our squad to play to their instincts and abilities so that they can regain confidence and togetherness.

Let’s be honest, we’d appoint a Head Coach, not a Manager. The days of a Manager are long gone.

He's a Chief Scout/"Sports coordinator" (DoF-lite) rather than a manager, but I wouldn't say no to getting him in as a Rudkin replacement

We do not need to name a Manager to take over now, I honestly believe a caretaker team

of Knudsen, Sadler, Stowell and Reeves will see a significant upturn in results, keep us in the league and allow the board to then recruit a manager to take over from the summer.
