Sadler and Stowell showed their hand in that team they picked vs Villa. Mendy and Ndidi together is an utter car crash and now with KDH suspended I genuinely worry we could see the Mendy, Ndidi, Soumare nightmare trio not seen since Puel had the audacity to go Mendy, Ndidi, Choudhury and we lost at home to a ten man Southampton team.

 

Their lack of subs as well bothered me immensely, I just fear we're wasting the massive opportunity of a new manager lift in the most winnable game left this season.

 

I'd go something like this.

 

Iversen

 

Castagne

Souttar

Faes

 

Ricardo

Maddison

Mendy

Kristiansen

 

Barnes

 

Iheanacho

Daka

 

With the way Iheanacho likes to drop deep, Barnes could be deployed up top with Daka or as part of a front three. What I did witness on Tuesday was the instruction to go direct over the top as much as possible and that's why we need the explosive pace of Barnes and Daka, as well as the guile of Iheanacho who often takes up positions thst find openings to slip through the on runners.

I think that's an over reaction, they did ok against one the league form sides other then to massive brain farts we would have got a result.

 

KDH hopefully sees Maddison move back central and either Tete of one of Ricardo of Castange wide.

 

The issues all season hasn't been out ability to score of create, its been our inability to defend and lack of structure. 10 defeat by the odd goal, we have the least amount of draws in the division, we are to easy to play against, turn 5 of those into draws we have 30 points.

 

We need to be more solid, been unbeaten breeds confidence as much as winning.

Also start Nacho, if we can get him scoring again he could save us.

 

We need players to step up massively at the moment sadly I don't see many doing this & if we stick to BR tactics then we are going down for sure.

 

Time to take a risk & change it up.

I trust in Big Dan doing a better job there than Ndidi and Soumare, think he would show more fight.

 

Yes Barnes at LWB is not the best idea but **** it.

 

To be fair it will not matter, I can't see anyone or any formation saving us sadly.

We always show the opposition way too

much respect…

BR on palace having 20 shots first half saying you have to expect that away from

home and dig in..

 

the guy the other night we set up to play against a good villa side and nullify them..

 

how about playing to our strengths in Maddison and Barnes and focus on ourselves rather than be scared of the opposition..

 

against  villa (away) and spurs at home we played attacking football….go figure the results..

 

our motto is foxes  never quit….  Never read so much boll*x

 

maddison has to play central and Kel up top also..

But we've proven that protecting the defence by sitting deep and not pressing, or adding additional defence minded midfielders makes absolutely no difference. We still get carved open.

 

I also don't think we create anywhere near enough, the statistics back that up too.

 

Our only chance of survival is fast, in your face direct football.

I didn't like the formation against Villa with Ndidi and Mendy, I really hope we don't see that again. I also thought it was a bit baffling Iheanacho and Ricardo didn't even make it on to the pitch. Castagne has been underwhelming this season and Vardy has just been non existent. I hope it's something like this: play attacking football and go for it FFS. If we're going to go down, at least make sure you're still swinging until the end

Agree with 10 of this XI. But I'm not sure about playing Tete. I want to give him one more chance on the basis of his debut but he's been so terrible in recent performances.

I like the look of this formation, and if Tete gets pushed around too much we can sub on Timmy and push Ricky further up.

Team selection..spot on..

 

Chuck in an intent to very much pass and  play forward as quickly as possible  (basically polar opposite to slow ponderous BrendanBall) and we should get a result, and the all important points and confidence boost's

WE CAN win this the players have to BELIEVE first. Play like they did against villa and cut out the stupid suicidal mistakes and we can rejoice in all 3 points. I also feel like all the other results will go our way too this weekend. If that takes the bad pressure off for the game against man city then maybe they can perform again to scrape a vital point? It could happen!

Well Ricardo did get on the pitch but get the point.And like the team but like others Tete worries me.
