Two recovery days?

So only one training day tomorrow for anyone that played on Tuesday.

Anyone else find that a bit odd?

If they weren’t at seagrave for two days then yes, I find it odd

if they are there doing recovery work and attending tactics meetings for Saturday then no

                          Iverson

Ricardo.   Faas.     Soyuncu.     Kristiensen

                           Mendy

                          Soumare

   Tete                Maddison.          Barnes

                            Nacho

I think I'd like to see this but major emphasis on Tete going out to enjoy himself, Soyuncu to prove everyone wrong and Soumare given explicit breakdown of expectations of the role.

It's not ideal, but we really are ****ed in midfield at the moment.

I think this is the one. I'd like to see Ndidi in Mendy's slot with one job. Destroy and make a simple pass or launch it into space down the pitch if a simple pass isn't available.

Mendy in next to Maddison.

Basically how we played under Rodgers when we were actually good and tried to win matches rather than win "control".

High press, work your nads off to win the ball back and force the errors from the opposition. Attack quickly on the turnover rather than looking to pass the ball for 5 minutes while the opponent recovers.

We will lose I’m afraid. They want it more and we don’t have the driving force of a passionate manager to push us on. We are a rudderless ship with many of the crew looking to board the life rafts.

Adam Sadler Pre-Match Press Conference vs Bournemouth

Injuries?

“No injury concerns, so nothing to report. Jony has trained this morning. Expect Youri to be back with the group next Tuesday to take some part in that.”

Message over management?

“The situation remains as it was. Mike and I will be in charge at the weekend. Beyond that, there's no update.”

Huge game?

“We prepare for every game with our usual processes. It's a massive game, we understand that, but there’s no difference to Tuesday night.”

Message to players?

“We know these players very well. It’s about us remaining positive with these players. Our job is to give them our full support, which is what we’ve been doing.”

How to change situation when you're part of old regime?

“We did work closely with Brendan and it’s a sad situation. We can only look at the next fixture and stay focused on getting the group in the right place possible.”

Bournemouth?

“Bournemouth is in a similar place to ourselves. You can see a clear identity and play on the front foot. We have to be ready. It potentially is a fantastic fixture.”

How are the players in themselves?

“We’ve had such a busy week so it was a case of getting everybody’s minds on the game. The players had a recovery day and those that played had another today. We’ll be back as a full group tomorrow. The spirit in the group was clear to see. The fans backed that up. They were loud and behind the team and we want the same on Saturday.”

Relegation battle?

“We have to stay in the moment. We’re not looking any further than Saturday, that’s our full focus.”

So carry on as usual then - brilliant.

How can you remain positive with the players when there has been nothing positive to follow on from???

Bournemouth similar to us with a clear identity and playing on the front foot? Can't remember the last time we showed either of these things.

Extra day off?? WTF?

Castagne   Soutar   Faes   Kristiansen

                    Mendy   Ndidi

       Ricardo   Maddison   Barnes

(Maddison free role; wide players with licence to go beyond Kelechi, who can find space or drop deep to link, as needed)

I’d go for this but swap Castagne and Ricardo. Riccy seems to excel at making runs from deep and is better at going on the overlap

Wouldn't mind that, but would have Ndidi where Mendy is, and Mendy where Soumare is.

I don't even think a change of manager miraculously changes how Soumare plays.

That's the way I'd go when Youri is back though.

Need to spread the pitch to allow wingers to flourish, but give enough protection in midfield for the defence.

Didn't Tanner allude to the fact in one of his articles that Rodgers was running them into the ground in training? It would make sense because we've looked knackered all season.

This could be tactical to make sure everyone is well rested.

Anyone know if Braunstone Lane is still shut? Travelling from Leeds I've always driven along the A5460 and then turned right onto Braunstone Lane, and then left after the Union.

However it was shut for Chelsea and I've not been since.

I'm hearing that there are issues on Upperton Road and Raw Dykes Road, so ideally hope to go Braunstone Lane way if it is open.

Thanks.

Bournemouth will be a tough opposition so we need to make sure we hit them hard get the early goal, high tempo don’t give them any time on the ball do t let them settle !!

im going for a positive performance from the Foxes and a 3-1 win !

...the same things we were seeing with Pochettino where he was beasting his squad!!!

Hardly surprising that they ran out of steam in 2015-16.

At the end of Puel's tenure, the players had remarked that the training was not intense enough and they needed a better quality and tempo to their everyday  training.

If there was one thing Pearson and his team got right was the balance between his players being at their optimum on match days and the level of fitness in the off season.

.. I  really want to see Tete in an uptempo team, I think that would suit him so much better!!!

Broken play will more than likely suit him and allow him to thrive, as opposed to a structured setup. We are never going to find out about him unless we play him and we can then make a judgement.

I think Barnes could be a centre forward, he doesn’t like headers but in every other aspect he could do a job. At least swap roles in a game for a bit. Under Rodgers players were restricted to their specific role and position on the pitch . Now he’s gone let’s do what every other team does - sometimes mix it up, get Barnsey switching centrally, sometimes switching to the right. Players like Maddison, Nacho, Praet are more than capable of swapping positions during games.

given how little he tends to track back, and that his main skill is in quick one-twos to take a shot it does feel like he might be viable for the Henry treatment tbf

Has anyone thats included Soumare in their starting 11s actually watched him play? I can forgive a lot of opinions but him being a Premier League footballer is not one of them.

Its been mentioned but is it normal to have just one day of training before this game? I would have had them in straight the way next morning. Footballers really do have it hard don't they.

Correct. Even if we had no fit or available midfielders I would rather play a teenager or someone from the crowd.

at this point it's basically that he's not Ndidi right? like maybe there's a decent player in there in the right system but realistically it's not us and probably not this country. He clearly needs a slower game, Serie A esque. unfortunately we've been left with such an unbalanced squad by Rodgers dogshit recruitment that we've not got much in options. Mendidi is hell, we know that from Puel, Praet is ineffectual at best, Tielemans still injured. to avoid Mendidi you're getting to either Maddison as a deep lying playmaker, playing with praet doing very little alongside one of Mendidi or Soumare in there
