Generally films just aren't as funny as TV and very few have made me actually laugh out loud.

99% of "comedy" films are dogshit. Special shout out to Adam Sandler who's made some of the most depressing stuff ever. Makes Schindlers List look like Peppa Pig.

Over the years, these probably passed the Kermode 6 laugh test, although probably not on rewatch.

Four Lions

Team America

Borat

Airplane!

Both Hot Shots films

Blazing Saddles

Deadpool

Superbad

Naked Gun & sequels

Spinal Tap

The Big Lebowski

Ali G films also.

Sacha Baron Cohen is a fantastic actor, love him in so many films he's been in.

However, I can't stand any of his own created characters. Ali G, Borat, that dictator bloke. I just don't get that kind of humour I guess

The McDonagh brothers are the absolute embodiment of my sense of humour.

I would say In Bruges is one of my favourite films of all time. It's close to perfect for me with my level of humour.

Seven Psychopaths and The Guard are also both spectacular.

Shout out to @bovril for the Four Lions nod as well though. Definitely deserves an honourable mention as does the work of Taika Waititi, Jojo is brilliant but my favourite is probably Hunt For The Wilderpeople which is near perfect.

Massive recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Is this the over 50’s thread?

I've not seen that one. Is it good, then?

I'm imagining a cross between a Carry On-style slapstick and the Fast Show, featuring side-splitting humour about silver surfers in the Internet age.

If they have a cut-price showing for Seniors, I might go and see it.

Struggling to think of many to be honest. Not a big fan of comedy's, seen loads but can't think of any off the top of my head I'd call laugh out loud funny.

Tuna in doesn't understand comedy shocker!

 Sorry, probably shouldn't have mentioned it. :P

I will echo the shouts for In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, The Death of Stalin and Game Night. For whatever reason I've never got round to watching In the Loop but I love The Thick of It so can probably add it on a technicality. Others that come to mind are Scott Pilgrim, Hail Caesar, The Grand Budapest Hotel and both of the Paddingtons.
