TJQuik Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 How ****ing brill would it be if he goes to west ham and we swap places with them next season?

Even better, he only signs with a relegation release clause that's less than what we sell him for and we buy him back for a profit on promotion. #chefskiss #delusional 3
jonny_wright Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 West Ham are massive, no way they getting him for 30m either haha…. Harvey off to a club that’s been better than Leicester for 6 months out of the past 10 years!! Pure banter 1

Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 Moyes will absolutely kill this lad. West Ham, with the way they play, is a terrible move for him. Even Antonio has admitted that playing for Moyes means you are "working with scraps".

Dan Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 You might be mixing them up with Villa. West Ham have been matching us not far off really in the last three years. It is quite galling though that one bad season and the likes of Villa are swooping in for our players. Villa hadn't finished above us since 2014. 3
dannythefox Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 If they think they can get him for 30 that won’t happen he’ll still be worth that with 1 year left on his contract. Might as well keep him for the season and just sell madders.
UniFox21 Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 If financially possible, surely you offer him a small decrease, with conditions of going back up to above his old salary if we get promoted. Then a sell clause or w/e if we fail to go up this year

JimJams Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 Howe wants him, so he's not gong for 30mill. Stop shitting your britches.

I'm not keen on West Ham but I think Antonio is protecting his own arse with that statement more than anything else. 1

Lets be honest anyway, if Barnes goes there now and signs a 4 or 5 year contract, even if he only does 3 of that he'll be there longer than Moyes. 2
lcfc sheff Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 we aren't selling him for £30m think the club would rather risk it and keep him, unless there's incentive bonuses
Popular Post FoxesWalk Posted 8 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 8 June 2023 We should hold him unless a truly stupid offer comes in. He will tear up the championship, and it’s much more likely we bounce straight back with him than without him. Can always sell him next summer if we don’t bounce back. 5
AS78UK Posted 8 June 2023 Posted 8 June 2023 Think we should try and get him to sign a contract extension and loan him for a season if none of the big teams come in for him. Surely better to have him back with us if we manage to bounce back (big if I know) then loose him for 30m now. Can always sell him next year if we don't make it up.

That said, he generally contributes more when we're dominating the game so maybe he'd get along at one of the bigger clubs.
BKLFox Posted 9 June 2023 Posted 9 June 2023 In the past four Premier League seasons, there have been just two English players to register at least 10 non-penalty goals and assists in each campaign. One of them is Harry Kane, the country’s all-time leading scorer. The other is Harvey Barnes. We might be seen as desperate but 1 thing this board does well is squeeze every £ out of a buying club when they really want that player, I’m sure we will get our 40m+ for Harvey. 2

This is one of the great ironies of this particular relegation. Most teams lose 1 or 2 players, namely the only ones good enough to play at the level. We realistically will lose a player in every position (GK apart) which in itself, should mean you can't be relegated. As I write, it's pretty clear that's the Danny Ward effect laid bare. I think he knocks 10 places off any team's position. If he was keeper for Pep at Man City, they'd finish 9th or 10th.

We can't afford to take this risk especially as there is a chance, and it is a good one, that we don't get promoted next season. 1
