tom27111 Posted 5 July 2023 Posted 5 July 2023 I know Maddison only had a year left on his contract, but if Mason Mount is worth nearly 50% more than him, football really has lost the plot.
Super_horns Posted 7 July 2023 Posted 7 July 2023 (edited) Van Der Sar rushed to hospital after a brain bleed and in Intensive care . https://twitter.com/AFCAjax/status/1677346750942650368?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet Wish him well obviously. Edited 7 July 2023 by Super_horns 4
StanSP Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 Friday 1 September 20:00 Luton Town v West Ham (Sky Sports)* *Will move to Sunday 3 September, 12:00 BST, if Luton are scheduled to play in the League Cup the preceding Wednesday Why do the PL do this? Barely any notice for fans who want to arrange travel early on?
MPH Posted 10 July 2023 Posted 10 July 2023 Blackburn Rovers have rebuffed the early advances of Luton Town who are interested in a move for Thomas Kaminski. Can you imagine being a prem team and refusing to meet the £4m price tag of your chosen first choice keeper?
Paninistickers Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 This Kalvin Phillips Amazon thing. It's satire, right? He's done what?...a couple of good seasons in the championship and I guess was a lower PL team's best player for one PL season under lockdown. And has, I dunno, 15 England caps or so. Am I missing something?!
BKLFox Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Spurs would be crazy to turn down BM's approach for Kane wouldn't they? He will be 30 this month, 1yr left on his contract & BM offering 70m & now PSG getting involved it will push it anywhere to 100m yet despite this they want to offer him a long term deal on 400k pwk & hope he signs?? It makes no sense 1, BM or PSG are not domestic rivals to Spurs. 2, Ange will probably rip up the current team & style of play does Kane stiffle that. 3, will Kane sign this new contract. 4. will Levy release funds/wages to get extra support in for any change of style if Kane is still there & on 400k pwk. 5, do you risk losing him to a domestic rival on a free next season

Super_horns Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 You just know they will sell Kane on the last day of the window then be scrabbling around for a replacement.

He's still young enough to sign his last big contract. I think he's worth at least £70m no problem. You're signing the complete package for that money, not potential.

The most a prem club would give him is a 3 year you would have thought, he could probably get 5 at Bayern or PSG. He obviously has wanted out for a while so i am not sure you could turn down 70-100m for someone who wants to go and is the wrong side of 30.

I suspect the replacement, at least in the short term, would be Richarlison, who will finally get to be the focal point of the attack (like he is for Brazil), rather than being shoved out wide.
kingkisnorbo Posted 11 July 2023 Posted 11 July 2023 Struggling to see why huge clubs aren't throwing the money out for Kane. One of the select few who are worth silly money and will return it no time. 2

Yep agree my thing is Spurs not entertaining the thought of selling at that price, Kane will not sign a long term contract with them now he only has 1yr remaining, he will have the pick of the world in 5-9mths. They have had some so called World Class managers there & achieved very little unless making top 4 is all out success for that club, Ange is now in who has managed in Asia & SCO is he the magic ingredient that will turn the tide for both Kane & Spurs, i very much doubt it! The bars been set now with BM offering 70m if i was Spurs i'd make it known that he is for sale they will get 100m easily, for the past 'x'years the team has been built around him & what has it won them, zip! Is Maddison sitting behind him going to make much difference into how many goals Kane gets because Kane gets the most anyway, they need to rebuild, Maddison is the start but look at Liverpool they are going to get 3 quality signings which will transform their midfield for years to come all for a combined 80-100m, they are just hanging onto him because its him & are blinkered about what they really need, isn't that what we accuse our boards of?

I’m sure he’d be tempted by Man City but he doesn’t suit their style at all…

He doesnt take on players but he's one of the best passers of the ball around, that just gets overlooked since he's so good up top. Guess I'm making a moot point as neither need each other and he'll probably go to Bayern anyway.
Finnegan Posted 12 July 2023 Posted 12 July 2023 Villa getting Emery, Tielemans and Torres while we drop out of the Prem, sell all our best players and sign Wolves hand me downs is truly the darkest time line. 2
UniFox21 Posted 12 July 2023 Posted 12 July 2023 Unsure where to post this; but hopefully this means they're getting rid of the most of Ferdinand et al. "Laddish" is one way to describe, but I'd personally use unprofessional.

There'll be lots of backlash from the usual types, but Woods/Breach in particular I find sometimes better than their male equivalents. I didn't know BT/TNT are stopping their 'score' programme though. That's a shame, even if it did mean enduring Sutton and Walton.

Absolutely, they're brilliant at what they do and I hope people acknowledge that rather than thinking they're token choices. I was disappointed to hear that, was a decent format which maybe just needed updating a little.
The Bear Posted 12 July 2023 Posted 12 July 2023 All 3 women is a bit sexist isn't it? Same with the Women's World Cup coverage. 11 women and one bloke.
filbertway Posted 12 July 2023 Posted 12 July 2023 I enjoy that by making it less "laddish" they're putting on 3 top quality broads to ogle. The fact all of them can form a coherent sentence and seem to actually be very good at their job is of course a bonus. 1

CosbehFox Posted 12 July 2023 Posted 12 July 2023 BT deserves the comment of being ‘laddish’ because it’s so fcuking chummy. Think actually worked on Score but not on live broadcasts.
