6+ still to come in.

Fair few still to shift out.

Iversen and/or Ward

Vesty and/or Faes

Can see Thomas or Kristensen being allowed to leave

Castagne

Soumare

Ndidi

Nacho

Going to be an interesting few weeks until the market closes.

Interesting Praet isn't on that list.

Will be upset to see Iversen, any of LT or VK and Nacho leaving.

Feel Castagne could be vital to Maresca's style of play.

Still an interesting name to be floating around on a freebie list though isn't he mate!

Imagine the sticking point is BC can still claim compo

Did they offer him a new deal and he rejected it? If so then yes they'd get a bit of compo, if not or it was on less money than before then no compensation owed.

Lots of local news articles saying compensation is due. Interestingly everyone who was circling after him has gone quiet so I wonder if it’s a chunky fee?

Forgot to add Praet

I think majority of those that will leave will be on loan, especially once the end of the window approaches and nobody wants to pay what we've asked.

I see little point in loaning Ndidi, Praet or Iheanacho with less than a year on their deal. Unless they cover all their wages + pay decent loan fees.

Interested you've got Kristiansen on the list, is it just that position or any particular reason why?

Club need to stop rejecting offers for players who don't want to be here.

Plenty of interest but at lower than market values.

The club are too stubborn for their own good when it comes to getting rid of the deadwood.

6 weeks to go :fc:

Actively recruiting for that left side position.

If we land Giles it will be hard for him to get regular first team football.

Unforgivable given the demise in recent reasons was largely caused by not moving players on and the malaise setting in.

If we’re getting 6 plus… even assuming 3 of those are Piroe, Mavididi and Giles. We must be looking at a few freebies?

Some interesting ones still on the freebie list. Massengo wanted a bigger team than Bristol City and it never materialised but did well on loan in Ligue 1 last season.

Lanzini would be a real stretch but possible links to coaching staff might be an in?

Why do people keep mentioning no goals, no assists, no nothing really except lush hair Massengo.

He is genuinely not very good at football.

Nico Schulz is now available on a free

Not taking Hutchinson is unforgivable really - easily an upgrade especially as we have bugger all currently - easily affordable and we let him go ipswich- such a weird lack of interest in someone clearly good enough for this league in positions we need desperately- very strange indeed

This is disappointing if the offers were remotely reasonable  (and caveat with if true, sorry) as recent windows have repeatedly shown this approach is not really working, and we are not in a position of strength to play hardball. Does make we wonder on two questions though. Who is rejecting the perceived low ball offers, and is Enzo on board with them;

I suppose it depends as to the levels of offers we are rejecting. The sales of both Barnes and Madders prove the club are prepared to compromise to seal a deal. It would seem we.have 2 valuations - 1) market value which we would accept straight away and 2) a compromise sale value the club would be prepared to accept if needed.

in the cases of the players in question, it could be the club are rejecting derisory offers, for example if Castagne is valued at £15m but the club could be wiling to a deal at £12m however the offer is only £7.5m, it’s a very difficult balancing act in needing to move players but at the same time not being seen to be almost giving them away.  Let’s hope over the next week or two, the club can find some middle ground that enables them to move on the players that do not want to be here.

Villa doing what we could never do - strengthen when in a position of strength. Fair play to them. Blood on Top and Rudkin's hands.

We did after the FA Cup final win by not selling one of our key players and investing in 4 signings, unfortunately the recruitment turned out to be pretty woeful however at the time Daka and Soumare were both heralded as good exciting signings.

I think it's less about where the money is coming from, and more how have they not breached FFP regulations, surely their wage bill is going to be way above the  permitted level?

Now they’re in a UEFA competition (where it’s actually policed), this may start becoming an issue because there’s no way their club income can sustain that amount of spending.

Honestly? I was just mentioning anyone who looked attainable on the free transfers list lol

Same reason there'd ever be. Nobody wants to buy them and we want them off the wage bill to get others in.

I dont see it happening with Iheanacho, I doubt we can sign much better without spending a lot.

But Ndidi doesn't really fit the system at all and Praet is mediocre as hell. It we can loan them out and that gives us the money to replace them in the squad then that's that.

Praet has been out before but we had to pay most of his salary. We may as well pay him off but we won't. Kelechi is worth keeping for his potential contribution. If we should go back up , he will probably sign a new contract. His transfer value is incidental now.

Having someone pay part of his salary and a probable loan fee is obviously better than "just paying him off."
