Signs of our academy / Seagrave facilities starting to pay dividends

Deals like this will hopefully build our clubs relationships with 'bigger' clubs

We only built sea grave to help develop players for the entitled 6. That’s why our new strategy is to loan all their players and develop them.

It's bad enough that a group of clubs can collect and stockpile all of the best players from the no so rich clubs. To do the same with academy players is all part of ensuring that no other clubs can compete or challenge their brand. Competitive professional football has always been weighted to those clubs with money but never to this extent. You can only hope that it will eventually eat itself.

There should be a limit to the money you can spend on academy players (as a team, not individually) separate from FFP and fairly low.

No saying he'll get anywhere. Plenty of older lads on the verge of supposed greatness don't, let alone 14yos. Has to go down as a £1.2m win for our academy.

Hmmm think that's a little authoritarian, is it not? Under no circumstance or is it always the clubs decision?

I was just floating a concept really.  The grip of oil money is getting tighter with Saudi money distorting the market new ways, messing with FFP in the UK helping clubs where they have interests in.

Then there's buy back clauses putting all the risk on the smaller club and a the benefits with the bigger richer club.

Add to that the hoovering up of all the younger talent that's clearly happening, we've lost 3 kids this summer alone.

The only way to protect the game in a meaningful way would be to have more regulation around some things and one of the easier ones would be more rules around young players.
