He is a confidence player, hopefully Ruud can bring that confidence and belief back

I think a few players have had a dip in confidence during the latter Rodgers era and then under Cooper. Will be interesting to see improvement in several players under the stewardship of RVN.

Against Spurs he was absolutely brilliant, much better than last night.

But it's pretty clear that no Faes made a difference, and the shift in the second half so he had more protection and options with the ball

Also he was against Summerville in the second half who isn't on the level of Kudus

Like most of the team he improved considerably after Van Nistelrooy’s tactical change at half time. He and McAteer were atrocious as a pair in the first half. I’d be surprised if that combination is ever repeated.

Let us fervently hope that he gains some confidence from the second half because his consistently abject performances this season (Arsenal apart) have been at the core of our defensive problems (which of course Cooper was incapable of fixing).

He will never alas be the top class full back he was before that serious injury but he surely has to improve under Van Nistelrooy…

Yep he has clearly lost a yard of pace and isn't as explosive off the mark since his unfortunate injury.

He looked to rely on his pace a lot when defending against tricky wingers so it appears he is struggling now that he's back up to the level of the Premier League

He has been poor this season, but it’s not too long ago there was talk of him going to England, potentially starting, before his long term injury. He needs competition for his place and to rebuild his confidence.

Full back is a hard position defensively and nearly always up against a good player. Unless you play against us.

But Justin is struggling to do the basics, and even get close to his man. Chaotic defending.

No no, he's just finished.

Shows a distinct lack of responsibility and failure to just deal with things sometimes.

Unless someone has called him to leave it (which is equally stupid) there is no reason to. Someone (Ward most likely) has to be telling him that there's a player over his shoulder.

Why even do that? How stupid have u got to be!

The only reason you leave it that late and it that manner is you get a call from the keeper, but if Ward thinks he's gathering that with where it is it's madness. Justin hasn't been good enough for a long time.

Look, I said some very unsavoury things about him last week but the point stands. He’s very poor and shouldn’t be playing for us

Ever since that injury, he has never been the same player, why he got a new contract is beyond me.

That injury is an excuse...it happened ages ago and he recovered and played numerous zillions of games.....he's just become sh*t some players do

Sad to say, but I think we need to ship him off and allow him to start his career again somewhere else.
Was fantastic before the injury, but just not good enough on any level this season.
