RowlattsFox Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 They just doing him a favour so he can keep fit? I don't know if Man Utd struggle to fulfil the homegrown quota, do they need to sign someone to fill a number
HankMarvin Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Be interesting to see if he suddenly stays injury free
foxes_rule1978 Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Good luck, decent when he wasn’t out injured all the time

Qwerty Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 His agent must be a genius! I think he's still a good player but to get PL wages and a contract with his injury record is astounding. 1
Marmite Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Let’s be honest, he wasn’t great for us and with the signing of Coady and Doyle, we have moved on. 1 1
Marky mark Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Three games during pre-season working on fitness and working with u21s

My "honest" opinion is that yes he WAS a great defender for us, a real rolls royce of a player, BUT agree with you 100% his best days are behind him and we have rightly moved on. 7
Hitesh Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Would be hilarious if Ten Hag gave Evans the captaincy for the pre season games
Koke Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Just now, STUHILL said: He is better than Maguire! He's not at his current state.
Jaspa Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 That's where his loyalties have always laid. Even here, prior to that crunch game against Man U for a Champions League spot, where we conspired to not turn up and gave Jesse Lingard a free goal, in the build up to it Jonny popped up on a Man U YouTube podcast chatting to them about his time there and all things Man U. I've never heard of that happening with any other player. He seemed to completely lose interest here. Started out great. See if he finds regular fitness now then, eh.
Corky Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Why haven't the club given an update? Not even a statement wishing him well or anything.

Cheshireblue Posted 18 July 2023 Posted 18 July 2023 Man Utd have had a model over the last few seasons of signing on a more "mature" player to play regularly with their U23s and use their experience to develop the younger players - Paul McShane and Tom Huddlestone have done it...could suit Evans with his injury record over the last couple of years - play a less intense level and a route into coaching? Soyuncu for one was always better when playing with Evans
