Southampton seems like a good candidate for promotion, but are these supercomputer predictions ever accurate?

Well they usually predict Man City to win the prem

and by the time the window shuts we should  have the strongest squad in the championship

so we should win it

but we should have comfortably finished mid table last season …….

“Supercomputer” We got to the moon using a computer with less power than a toaster. Pretty sure an iPhone could handle this.

I used up my "negative post" quota for the day so cheers for doing this for me :D

Use of the word ‘supercomputer’ for predictions like these should result in immediate expulsion from all top flight stadiums.

Except for West Ham. They can be subjected to the bubble machine.

1 thing it shows is that they (it) predicts a harder championship than last season.

They predict we will win but only with 85pts and look how many losses, 14!

Burnley won with 101pts and only 3 losses!
Sheff Utd came 2nd with 11 loses.

There was a 30pt gap between Burnley and 6th this prediction halves that.

So in summary the Supercomputer will be way off with the figures  it’ll end up being as accurate as a weather report

Just had a look at our last season in this awful place a decade ago (a decade, ffs!)

Was surprised to see we had lost 5 games by early December. Included embarrassing defeats away at Doncaster and Sheff Weds and the inevitable defeat to a woeful Forest.

Not until QPR away just before Christmas did we properly hit our groove.

Same computer that couldn’t see us fail to finish top 4 in two successive seasons?

Because we shouldn't have. The probabilities were in our favour both seasons but having the most spursy manager to never manage spurs screwed us.

Actually I’m not having that! The collapses were due to injuries, fatigue & lack of squad depth IMO, rather than to mental fragility or Brendan.

And in both seasons, look to what we did in the January transfer window for your answers.
I mean, Ryan Bennett FFS!

14 defeats is more than a side winning the league would get. Burnley had 3 but with a lot of draws. In 2013/14 we had 6 but less draws, more wins.

The number of wins sounds about right but if we are to win the league, I’d imagine more like between 6/8 defeats with more draws in there.

I mean, when this happens so regularly to him... Like the first season you say injuries and lack of squad depth and point to Ryan Bennett but in reality we didn't come back from the COVID interruption. We resumed 8 clear with 9 to play, midtable form would force title winning form from the chasers to catch us, we put together relegation battle form (9 points from 9 games), with the only enforced change from the team that was blitzing everyone in sight being Ricardo out and Justin in. That was a manager who simply couldn't lead the team over the line.

It can't be that super if it doesn't even state the winner of the play-offs for the third promotion place. Tbh, there's not a computer in the entire world that can accurately predict the outcomes of 552 semi-random events spread over 9 months, not matter how super it claims to be.
