Cov could have been out of sight, if thry'd taken their chances but KDH found his mojo and Mavididi was a revelation.

KDH was disappointing in first half, but much better in the 2^nd half (opposite to the rest of the team)

First half showed real promise, just lacked creativity

Second Half until final 15 minutes doesn’t rule out back-to-back relegations, it was awful. OK maybe not relegation, but hardly built confidence for promotion

Final 15 minutes, although nearly lost it, the player’s ability eventually showed through. KDH really stepped up, both sub Praet and Iheanacho both made real impacts and need to start the next match

Ndidi was atrocious in his 15 minutes in the 2^nd half. Looks like we still need an AM even though Praet did well after coming on and I would like to see more of him

At home and they had 20+ shots, that is poor and on xG we lost – they had better chances

This weekend I think the referees have really tried to let the games flow, so we need to be careful trying to win free kicks because they are not going to be given

Only 1 change in the 1^st 75 minutes even though losing is not good enough – in fact criminal when we had some great players on the bench, 2^nd change was striker for striker. Manager looked like he failed to adapt to how the game was progressing, admittedly it worked today, but I am concerned it won’t always.

Coventry was a top 6 side, so despite a very inconsistent 90 minutes we have to have confidence.

Decent first half.

 

Could've been 3 nil down and out of the game if Cov had been better in front of goal.

 

Brilliant to turn a game on it's head and show resilience.

Well it was a rough and tumble reintroduction to life in the Championship.

 

We dominated possession first half, but struggled with chance creation with the move often breaking down with the attacking 8s of KDH and Wilf, despite taking up some good positions.

 

Cov offered little on the ball to begin with, but hinted at danger on the counter.

 

We were abject at defending corners from the first - no change there. Clearly not Hermansen’s strong suit, but the blame for that doesn’t lie solely on his shoulders and he showed his shot stopping prowess in a promising debut.

 

Winks is better than this league - absolutely ran the show first half. Flagged a bit in the second, but did look a little isolated, personnel wise.

 

Wingers blew hot and cold - to be expected at this level - but Mavididi finished strongly and was instrumental in both our goals.

 

I don’t care if he’s good on the ball - Vestegaard is an absolutely rank defender.

 

I was most pleased that we showed some resilience - responding to adversity has not been our strong point in recent years. Cov were absolutely battering us after that very sloppy start to the second half, but we held on and came back with two lovely goals from KDH - what a way to respond to your critics and bounce back from a sloppy first half. MOTM for him.

 

Couple of astute signings in attacking positions - Hamer would be perfect, let’s hope Casadei fits the bill - and I think we’ll be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Please don’t start Wilf that far up the pitch again!

 

Can’t help but feel Nacho is much more suited to this formation and style of play than Vards, too. Will be interesting to see how we line up once the transfer window closes.
