Was okay first half of last season. But since January I think he’s been poor.

 

Seems to give the ball away a lot and also lets opponents glide past him, for instance the second goal yesterday Trossard is basically in front of him and Winks doesn’t even pick him up.

Gave the ball away for their 4th goal after not tracking Trossard for their 2nd. Fair to say he’s not had a great start to the season. He can do it at this level though - multiple England caps demonstrate this. Cooper needs to adjust his midfield set up to better suit his game as we don’t have many alternative options.

Feel for him. Decent player but needs similarly technical players around him which Cooper has stripped out of the side. Absolutely no coincidence that Winks looks lost without the passing options of Vestergaard and Ricardo. Maresca built a spine and Cooper unfortunately has dismantled that. I don't dislike Cooper but he's too stubborn. It's an irritating character trait when you're winning week in week out (Maresca), but suicidal when it's clear to every man and their dog things aren't working (Rodgers). Whilst I'm not yet advocating a change in manager I'm convinced Winks in a different system is a very decent player.

He's had the system completely changed on him. 

 

He was the perfect pivot in Maresca's system and he had Ricardo and Vestergaard to play with. 

 

Cooper has just ****ed him like the rest of the team.

One of the most overrated players we've had, in my view. Zero athleticism, a sideways passer, and not up for the fight. Someone the other day said he'd get into our 2015/16 team over Drinkwater—never read anything so stupid in my life. Leicester's Drinkwater was twice the player.

Winks over Drinkwater is a ridiculous opinion. Regardless of what happened at Chelsea, Drinkwater won a league title for us, including a great performance at the Etihad where he bullied David Silva of all players.

Where did this debate come from?  It’s disrespectful to both players and just not an argument.  Winks would never claim to be close to the DD we saw that season, 

 

hopefully he hasn’t got a bad groin injury but the speed at which he came off says he could have or he started the game with something.

Just when I think I couldn't love Winksy anymore he goes and pulls a stunt like that at the weekend <3 

 

Considering I was totally underwhelmed with his signing I love the man.
