Let’s face it its  not just anyone player the whole team are shit no running into space off the ball, everyone backing off when under attack instead of pressing, wingers who play the ball backwards instead of taking on the fullback, trying to walk the ball into the goal , crossing the ball has become a distant memory, so so disappointing to what we where a couple of years ago.

Any update on the injury? The thought of Faes or Okoli playing next to Coady considering 1 is a complete headless chicken and the other is a poundland Danny Amartey isn't an attractive proposition. In the next few games where we will likely look to dominate the ball need someone who can actually pass the ball out from the back.

As much as the header wasn't the best, you'd kind of want to expect at least one of your teammates to be alert to someone hanging around at the edge of the box.

Need to watch it back again but where were any of our midfielders? Where's the anticipation from other players to be aware of the potential danger?

There was a midfielder (who I haven't so far identified) who was loitering a few yards the wrong side of Barkley while the cross came over and wasn't alert enough to the danger in that situation.  Had he been then he could have got back in time to close him down.

Oops, not so obvious now looking at the still photo.  I thought I saw someone close when I first saw the video.

Bek

he chased the first clearance out and pressed - then didn’t get back into our shape so Barkley was free. Didn’t help that our other midfielders all then  shifted too far right

I think it was El Khannouss. I agree entirely. There are times when, in desperation, a goalkeeper or defender just needs to get something on the ball in an attempt to clear it. Time and again, particularly from corners, we shove every man and his dog in our own penalty area believing that that's good defending! Anyone remember when Ranieri used to leave Vardy and Marhez on the half way line which had the effect of tying up 3 opposition defenders at least.

Whilst this situation wasn't from a corner it was similar to the extent that there was an almighty gap between our defence and our nearest man in midfield. It's almost a recipe for disaster and what happened could have happened on a number of occasions this season, we've just been very fortunate that there hasn't been an accurate Ross Barclay there before but we have faced shots.

It's very easy to blame Vestergaard or any other defender in that they were the last player to touch the ball but in all fairness, he should be able to expect better from his midfield in terms of their positioning and alertness.

He is one of the worse centre backs I’ve seen. Not good in the air, not strong, not fast. Decent at passing the ball. Can’t stand him.

He's so much better than last time we were in the PL but still pretty rank. It's criminal that he cannot defend one on one. Not as in, he's bad it, it's that he basically cannot do it

Vestergaard and Faes must spend around 10 to 15 minutes passing the ball to each other every time the two of them play. Midfield went missing after 20 minutes as they always do, not one player is worth what there being paid total lack of talent from top to bottom

The way that shite palace player bumped him off for the 1st was embarrassing. Your a CB and your main attribute is size. Get a grip!!

I do wonder whether in Yannick's head he doesn't actually see himself as a defender? More a ball playing deep lying back -ish player!!

His distribution at times is very good. Picks out risky passes with ease and seems very composed at times but he cant defend to save his life.

??? What happen

First goal. ****ing crap, gets bullied, gives up

But earlier on in the game, he got nutmegged and left for dead. Thankfully Soumare covered for him. Whilst most of the defence and Winks gave Bouba a pat on the back and praise, this lanky weasel didn’t even bother.

I know it’s a long time ago but his reaction at Legia told me a lot. Here for the dollar (and now easy life)

Ah ok. I thought he might have done something after the game. Yes, weak player. Always has been
