Last season we lose games like that

Albeit we are in the championship, it's going to be ugly at times

Wins like today are what carries you through

Very rough around the edges but trusting in the process and looking forward to watching the team evolve. Ref was a bit biased with the yellows, I think they only got one? Dirty gits anyhow!

The first half they pressed us hard, we made big mistakes and got away with things. But by the second half they were tired and sat back and we were in control. They stopped pressing and relied on counter attacks but you could see we’d worn them down.

Overall our passing was off today, a few bad performances but the grit was still there. In both games we’ve seen that having a youth player on the wing is costly, I think both have been responsible for halting things that someone like mavididi would have taken advantage of.

On another day we concede and lose that 1-0 but in these early games, honestly it’s just the results that are important as we are a work in progress.

A separate note to discuss vestergarde, he had a rocky start and his passing was wild (in a bad way) to say the least…. but he put in some crucial blocks. He was nowhere near as good as faes… (nobody was) but he played his part in a well defended game.

It wasn’t a great performance today. But, we defended well generally and were gritty, aggressive, strong and didn’t go under when we could have. On another day, Praet scores early, Mavidua make the pass and were 0-2 up at HT.

A win is a win and champions win in multiple ways.

Faes absolutely imperious today. He's clearly better than this level.

We score a couple in that first half if we had a player of Mavididi's quality on the other wing.

That is a priority  . Madivadua , McAteer and co have energy and enthusiasm but are really no better than mid table league 2 standard at this stage of their development . Mavididi looks a cracking signing , put whoever identified him on the case

Probably not, the carabao cup game the sky highlights were a joke, but we did decent highlights on our YT site, so that might be the place to look.

Cheers

Iheanacho had a frustrating game but i liked how he dropped deeper to collect the ball and looked good on the turn. With a right winger who tucks in to become a stiker in those scenarios we could be lethal

Yeah, sometimes it’s annoying seeing our lone striker 2 lines behind play making the passes, but then Vardy comes on and doesn’t touch the ball for 30 mins

I feel like we grind wins out and get ourselves up there at the top, then when we gel a bit more, get a RW, Casadei, the keeper back fit and Coady, then we should be well away. Faes was brilliant as was Doyle. All in all we never looked in too much trouble, we made it harder for ourselves by not getting the 2 or 3 goals we deserved.

Agree.

KDH and Iheanacho had a few half chances between them on top of this I recall. Other than the chance they blazed over the bar, I'm not sure how anyone could say they deserved much out of today...

Awkward one today, they bedded in and looked to play for corners and throw-ins. Those types of games can be tough, and this team is a work progress, so to get the win is a big result.

That's a great 6 points but very little convincing or quality football over the 180 minutes played.

Faes looked a level above today. Going forward we look a bit lost.

We are in urgent need of a creative CM and a RW and it's blately obvious. With those positions filled, I think we'll look much more of a threat as a whole team.

Winning when not playing particularly well. Winning whilst implementing a new system.

I'll take that.

It's funny, people wanted to give Enzo a chance to build his team, yet I'm constantly reading negative comments. Signs are there already. We just need to compliment the system with a bit more quality.

Both teams were bad in the final third, but that’s life in the championship.

If we can get another winger and an attacking midfielder we will walk this division. If we keep playing Ndidi as a hybrid 10/winger then we will struggle to get ahead of the pack.

Quite a hard watch but most welcome 3 points.

It's going to take time and there will be a few setbacks,  but I believe we're heading in the right direction after the Brendan fiasco.

Faes MOTM for me👍🦊

Fancy us to go unbeaten this season personally

I’m not sure that’s ever happened in the Championship tbh
