Remember how eager they were to cling on to their *biggest miracle in football* mantle when we won the league. "But we won the (whatever it was called) European Cup." Summat about "Cloughie". Like anyone in the world cared back then. Even fewer care now. We won the Premier League. It'll be eons before they win anything, if ever

Rotor Meatspin vs Dynamo Goatse wasn't a great experience.

Iconic names of the game. I can tell from how they roll off your tongue you're an expert.

Knew this thread would make a comeback today. lol

Takes me back to the glory days when these threads were a "best of" compilation of meltdowns about us on other fan forums.

As for this new "lol enjoy Wrexham away" thing - it really isn't the flex they think it is given the media are creaming themselves over Wrexham's rise. Regardless of the level of competition, I guarantee there will be more coverage of the Hollywood darlings playing former champions of England than there will for Forest playing Blurbejkraften Scheissenspiele on a Thursday night. Sky will make a big deal out of it.

I would much rather that away day than wrexham on a Monday night in January

I think it's more the elitism and their misplaced belief that any sort of European football is going to have the media fawning over them and their exploits back at a time when the Theme from M*A*S*H was number 1 in the charts.

As much as I hate to admit it, them being back in the UCL would be a massive story from a neutral perspective, and the media would have a field day with it. But the harsh reality is that nobody cares if they play at Europa or Conference League level next season, unless they either reach the latter stages or get dumped out by a minnow. You can see it on their forum right now - mental gymnastics left and right, because this was their big moment to get back "where they belong" on the flimsy basis of something that happened 45 years ago. And they're failing, and need to convince themselves that the consolation prize is what they wanted all along.

Yes, as fans we relish those European trips, and yes I'm bitter that they're having their best season in three decades while we're suffering the worst I can remember. But as others have pointed out, with how badly UEFA have watered down the format there really isn't any particular prestige below the UCL level any more. They can take the piss out of us having to play Wrexham, but they could be just down the road lining up against The New Saints or Shamrock Rovers later that same week.

The irony that they are saying how unintelligent our fan base is based on the away support singing a song that they haven’t even managed to understand the words to lol

As for the cup final stuff. Nonsense. We actually got tithe cup final and won it in recent memory, something they failed to do. After the crap season we have had, it’s just about the fun of sticking it to them and seeing our team actually show some fight was nice.

Oh they care

Just have a quick look at the comments on the LCFC Facebook page from their fans. You can complete F****t Twat Bingo in record time.

Who cares what a few Forest fans think. I don't begrudge any small club their time in the sun but with the way football is structured they'll be back fighting relegation within a few years

I think you are missing the point of this malarchy.

I tend to ignore what some estate agent or recruiter says on a social media website about the football club I support. The poster got me at a random European away day.

They could quite conceivably win the europa or conference if they get into either tournament. Imo I would rather Newcastle and forest in the CL so they get dumped out at the group stage with a whimper, lost in the media attention of 4 other English clubs in the comp

Forest fans are next level.

Are we not meant to enjoy what we can because our team have been shit all season?

Of course we're going to make the most of trying to stop them, just as they would love it against us.

the last "proper" trophy they won was in 89/90(league cup i think) ffs, suspect many of their fans dont even remember it or werent even born

amazing how they get ego's from one good season, and even then they seem to be doing all they can to bottle it and havent got any silverware to show from it

since what 96/97 i think LCFC have been the most successful club in the midlands, bur football goes in cycles

I think this shows what we achieved. There were events in Nottingham and Birmingham this year where Villa and Forest had ex players talking about their last trophy successes. Early 90s League Cup victories.

This October by comparison we have four/five league champions doing the same thing at De Mont

We've had two out of three of our best eras in the the last 30 or so years. The best thing 80% of Forest fans have ever seen is lifting the play off final trophy lol

Doing the "Cloughie Cup" a massive disservice here. Have some respect please

The fact they’ve printed that on their roll of honour tells you everything

And the best thing I’ve seen recently is their owner confronting Nuno after we pinched a draw on Sunday. Going to be hours of fun for all the family watching that implode when it goes tits up next season.

amazing to think 3 years after that we'd win the premier league

And with many of the same players!

Kasper, Morgan, Schlupp, King, De Laet all started.

Vardy and Drinkwater were on the bench. (Vardy didn’t even get on the pitch)

Even crazier to think that 3 of those players went on to win the FA Cup too.
