We spent big in 21/22 and consciously didn’t sell anybody. None of those players were signed as first choice players which was absolutely stupid.

Daka and Soumare were defensible signings  given their ages and profiles but we should have signed a first choice RW to improve on Perez.

Watched him closely yesterday for some reason.

Somehow managed to surprise me with how bad he was lol

One of the worst signings we’ve ever made when you take the fee/wages into account.

Always been a mystery to me, not just with that useless lazy trollope, but with other consistently awful players down the years. Why do they keep being picked to start? Are they outstanding in training and keep getting a 'chance' based on that?

It isn't always because there no alternative either.

I know we all see things differently, but players like Soumare are terrible and mostly lazy to all who watch I would suggest.

It feels physically sickening he's still on our books for various reasons. Never even looked good enough, never even pretended to try and impress. Slow work rate, languid style, doesn't score or assist, doesn't impact games positively, can't mark players properly, has no positional sense or awareness.

We thought players like Schlupp 'lacked a footballing brain' but Soumare makes him look like Albert fvcking Einstein.

Scary he's still on our books to be honest.

Agree with what was said above - this is more of a worse signing than some players that label gets attributed to (Slimani, Musa, Silva etc...)

Liked for the use of trollop.

It is correct that he has never had a goal or assist for us, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure he has 0 goal contributions.

Also,, i have never seen him take a shot in the warm up. He does stretches during shooting drills. Its like the 'scoring goals' part of football is of no interest to him.

One assist in his first season, for Barnes in a 1-1 draw at Leeds

This can't be right surely?

Perhaps because he is so slow, the data doesn't register anything less than walking speed?

He's on another list, sounds very similar, one letter swapped out.

True. But he did a funny dance celebration for Tielemans vs Everton!

Is there anyone out there that still thinks ‘that theres a player in there’?

I reckon he could actually be ok if he could be arsed.

the overwhelming evidence suggests however, that he cannot be arsed.

Or passing to a team mate or running or dribbling or controlling a ball or heading or tackling or pressing or.................

Worst signing we've ever made, I think.

Cost more than Akinbiyi accounting for inflation. Shit in every single game. Doesn't try - Ade gave it his all and wasn't good enough.

Honking attitude. Refused to play for us. Thinks he's better than he is and he's shitter than literally every midfield player over the last ten years.

Honestly can't wait until he's gone. I'm going to go to Seagrave when he leaves and give him a volley of ****s on the way out.

Agreed, worst ever for me too.

Always thought it was a bit unfair to lump Daka in with him when Soumare is a lot other level of awful ability and lazy.

I agree with majority of this, but I'm not sure we can compare signings cost accounting for inflation. Football inflation is different. The year we signed Akinbiyi for £5.3m the top English transfer fee was £18m for Rio Ferdinand. The year we signed Soumare for approx £17m to top fee was Grealish to Man City for £100m.

He's in no rush, pretty much like his style of play. Still being paid handsomely and will get a nice loan in Spain, France or somewhere and we'll still be paying most of his wages.
