Given our perilous financial situation failure to achieve promotion could have had disastrous consequences. We could easily have got stuck in the Championship. Leeds and Southampton fans can only hope that they might still join us. 

 

The short term future of the club might still be along a rocky road, but last season was the time to bemoan the circumstances that have got us to where we are. Now is the time to celebrate the players who have made that first step back. They deserve our appreciation and I hope, for them, the trophy parade is a memorable event.

Anyone who is turning their nose up at this needs to remember where we have been for so many years. 

 

Id have given anything to see us win this league through the mid to lates 2000s. We might not be that club we were then but we should never take these kind of successes for granted because they don't come around often for clubs like ours. Clubs bigger than us have gone 40 years without winning anything.

I wasn't expecting a parade and had planned to be away Sunday,. But my son wants to go so I've cancelled plans and we will be there. He might be my age the next time we win something so got to make to most of it!

Is that why they weren’t letting people

in the club shop before the game? Or at least letting them in slowly. I peered in and there looked to be a handful of Thais  rifling through all the overpriced tat made in South East Asia, but no one else.

There seems a lot of grumpy people on this thread. We have won a trophy. There were people that didn't get to be in the stadium who want to celebrate the achievement. Let them. My son is 5 and wants to go tomorrow. We might not get to see something like this for a while, so embrace it. I want him to have positive memories of LCFC, and this is a great opportunity for him to experience success. 

 

If you're against it, don't turn up. But to say it shouldn't be happening is cutting some fans out that want to celebrate it. 

 

Yes, we have been extremely lucky recently with our past 10 years of success, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate this. It wasn't our devine right to win this.

 

Life is too short, as I found out not long ago, so take the small wins and embrace it.

I will not be there today but I really wish I could.  I know yesterdays performance was awful but we  must enjoy every opportunity to celebrate a trophy. Vards said it himself, "winning something in football is very hard".
