Mason Holgate on a free?

wont be either of them, Keane signed a new deal at Everton and Holgate has moved to Al Gharafa

could easily be Ben Mee, Hause, Dawson

since it all fits the old and experienced, tho hause is only 30

Harsh lumping Justin in with those three

think hes more lumped in there as hes got a year left on his deal

know i would sell if a decent bid came in for him

Probably missed it as I don't follow his various media appearances but did Coady ever comment on that late January transfer rumour that he was going to return to Wolves and Dawson would come to us in return? I assume there was some truth in it given it seems too random for it to be made up...

Yeah, harsh to lump Justin in. Falls for me into the same bracket as Thomas - decent player worth a place in the team, who just suffers from a fragile mentality which makes him absolutely honking when the pressure gets to him. I've never questioned his attitude, but he needs man management, something which only Enzo has possessed in the past 8 or so years at the club. He was appallingly managed this season when it was obvious he was struggling.

Another part of man management is not letting egotistical muppets do what they want and believe their own hype, which is why questions are asked of Coady. He's not on the level of Wout the clown, but everything he said in public last season made him come across as a tone-deaf whopper. Maybe he was just trying to protect others from criticism, but i doubt it. Fella needs a reality check if he wants to carry on here.

He's a good talker and we saw this as a silver bullet to the mentality problem of 2022/23. It was another short-sighted and lazy move from our leaders.

Who do you reckon his 'PL replacement on a free' is? Craig Dawson?

There is only 5 people it can be (if true)....

Zouma

Lindelof

Dawson

Hause

Mee

It's not going to be either of the first two so pick your poison out of the remaining 3.

Not sure about his mentality, at least not that he's mentally wea. He was just about the only player who actually fronted up to how cack we were in games last year, when he was interviewed. Obviously he didn't have a good season but overall he wasn't half as bad as lots of people make out (still not a ringing endorsement based on the team last season). He massively suffered with those bad injuries, and the exposure down the right side last year was criminal.

He's probably guilty of trying too much when he's not in good form so in that regard, his mentality is not great I guess. But at this level, he's plenty good enough and especially with his versatility. Sadly, he's never going to reach the heights he was at pre injury so it's not unreasonable to want to sell him if a decent offer comes in. Still, he's way down the list of players we should actively be shipping out.

Good player...

Mentioned it a few weeks back. Weve spoken to him but haven't heard anything since on the matter.

He would be on a free unless Bournemouth have done the extra year?

We went for him about 4/5 years ago too when he was at Brentford

I think he’s better or certainly worth trying in the centre of a back 3.
I’m pretty sure that’s where he played at wolves.
I just don’t think we’ll play that system here.
Would be interesting to see how he did with Nelson and Okoli either side of him.

The same Johnny Evans who spent the year on the treatment table but made a miraculous recovery once he got a move to Old Trafford.  At least Coady does present himself to play.

Dont know if it’s just me but it would seem truly mental to make sure we have old deadwood lined  up before we shift in old deadwood?

Nope. Need him gone. He's paid too much and we have people who can play there. Doesn't really warrant his high wages now. Podcast Coady needs shifting

I agree. I just think we’re stuck with him.

He was a pointless and useless signing whos mouth does more moving in podcasts than his legs do in a match....

However...

Is him pushing for a transfer any worse / more insulting than some of the other rubbish we've got that are happy to never play so long as we continue to fund their 5* stay at our all inclusive training resort complete with its own golf course?

Not a bad shout but Evans in his time here was genuinely a top notch CB, before our relegation season.

Coady’s biggest contribution on the pitch was giving away that penalty against Palace that kicked off their decent run of form from memory.

Maybe, I’m being too kind to Evans but out of the two, I’d have Evans over Coady any day of the week.
