There was never a single moment anybody thought this would be a good signing. Who on earth scouted him?

It's what happens when you let managers dictate transfers. All well and good when the manager knows what he's doing (Enzo) but when you get manager who doesn't and makes garbage requests like Reid and Ayew this is what we're lumbered with.

Don't really know if that happened though. Could easily be we had not much money and somebody in the recruitment team had them on a list. Nobody really knows.

I agree with the sentiment of your post about manages dictating transfer policy, but take issue slightly when poor old Ayew is lumped in with Reid by association. Ability wise, they are incomparable.

Ayew has plenty of qualities. I'd never have signed him personally but there's no doubt he's got things in his favour and in the championship,.I have a feeling he'll be an asset for us.

Maybe we've not seen the best of him yet?

He did have an 18 goal championship season many blue moons ago. Sadly he seems to have built a career off of that season and at the end of the tunnel we've been lumbered with him.

Plenty? Apart from falling over for free kicks, he’s offered us nothing. I’m not counting two pre season friendlies. Both were unimaginative lazy signings, as were Skipp, Edouard. We just see too much of this now.

He came off the back of a good season from Fulham, but the idea behind signing him was misguided. We didn't need Premier League experience.

Thought he’d made about 5 appearances last season… he made 28!! 🤯

Not sure how many minutes that was but I can’t remember a single one of them.

28 appearances I'm surprised but 5 touches? That sounds about right

Reid has been absolutely awful but surely he needs to be a case study.

As @Paninistickers has referenced, he is physically and technically one of the worst players that I’ve seen in a LCFC shirt in years yet he has made a career out of being a footballer.

Has he always been this weak and quite frankly a bit pathetic as an elite footballer or has age/miles on the clock resulted in what we’ve witnessed?

In the nicest possible sense, we failed to do the most basic due diligence. He was leaving Fulham on a free for a reason - because he was no longer good enough to even be a squad player in a mid-table premier league side.

Considering he was (and still is) well-liked by Fulham's fanbase, it's telling that many couldn't believe we'd signed him. Last summer really was the most appalling transfer window we've had in 20 years.

It's actually crazy what passes for a "favourite" at these no mark clubs. Imagine talking about "technically glorious" footballers that have played for you club, we can whack out Riyad and a Fulham fan has to say "Bobby Reid".

We shouldn't have signed him, but Fulham offered him a new deal so I don't think your point about him leaving Fulham is correct.

I don't get the reason on why we need to sh!t on a player or fan base for our clubs bad decisions, particularly when that no mark club was comfortably above us the past season. He will have played for Fulham in some of his best years and gave his all for their club being involved in some of their recent success and seems to have been a key figure in some of their off field facing roles?? It was a bad move on our part and he's not of the standard we require, it doesn't mean he didn't do well for someone else actually showing some technical ability and that their fans should be derided for their appreciation towards him.
