Maybe it’s just me but at this level I think he will be proper decent - yes I know he was utterly garbage last year but so were the rest of them - clean slate for me - hasn’t gone on strike or caused any major trouble that I can see - seems to be a solid professional that’s just had a really bad season form wise

if he can cover fatawu and maybe even push for a 10 spot or even cf then why not - completely agree with the poster above even if it was said in jest - it’s like a brand new signing and dare I say it if he hadn’t have been part of that team last year most would be saying he is a solid championship signing - I trust in marti- if he chipped in with 10 goals and assists he will have done a great job for us and nothing at all saying he couldn’t do that when he is fit

Thought he was a decent signing at the time. Mid table player from Fulham. Would help us stay up.  Not seen since 🤔

I saw him at his lads school sports day. Won the egg and spoon race comfortably, speed, balance, poise non of that

Leicester City - death by clean slate.

If i ever see us lining up with Ayew and Cordova Reid on the wings again it will have been too soon.

I don’t understand the hate for him , he came into a side that was already a disaster and got worse so hard to judge him on last season and if we were in the Prem I wouldn’t want him here but at this level he’s got to be at least good back up with his experience. I’ll judge when hes had a few games.
Then you can all jump on me for even considering he might be ok 😁

I agree - He should be effective at this level and at the very least a decent option of the bench. Hes been injured and nobody was going to shine last year. Give him a chance and judge in a few months

He's also captained Jamaica, Fulham and was one of their "group captains" of 5 senior players similar to what we have. So I'm hoping even if he's not playing he's a good influence in training and in the dressing room. Can barely remember seeing him play for us and ideally we wouldn't have signed him (or at least moved him on) but in the meantime will cross my fingers and hope he contributes this season.

I genuinely dont remember if hes any good or not. At worst case we could hope he has enough experience to come on for last 15 mins and see games out that we are winning and under the cosh.

Yeah he’s never made a fuss and seems like a good lad. Hopefully makes a good bench option to back up on the wings, he was very handy for Fulham and they were not happy to see him go

All having him back will do it block minutes for academy lads. I reckon he'll be the last dregs of the swamp left you know, two more years of his deal, completely over the hill and no resale value. Here to the bitter end.

Yeah him and Vesty then the swamp should be drained for good .

Could we not just terminate his contract,  or would that cost to much for us?

we'd have to pay up the remaining money owed in full in a lumpsum

He's got very few redeeming qualities other than often being in the right place at the right time.

Does he solve our lack of creativity if he slots in on either wing or even in the 10 role? Categorically no.

Does he help free up space for the wingers by breaking the lines? Debatable

Does he press well? Debatable

In a team that has none of the above issues, would his ability to be the beneficiary of a lot of chances fall his way mean we would score goals? Yes

Reid arrived when we seemed to be looking for utility, players who can play in many positions, but as we found, a team of Jack-of-all-trades falls some distance short of the required level.

The bloke can barely kick a ball. I don't want him anywhere near the bench. He's shite.

Correct . It’s bizarre that someone earning a handsome living as a footballer is unable to make decent contact with a ball . He actually scored by mis hitting the bastard

BDCR, Ayew and Skipp were utterly dreadful signings. They gave us no chance of staying up and seriously impeded our ability to do anything in the transfer market this season. They also have no sell on value.

Yes, now we’ve fallen down to the Championship we might be closer to BDCR’s level, although I wouldn’t entirely bank on it seeing the performances of Ayew thus far.

He might be alright. He should certainly be useful as a squad player. He seems a decent enough chap.

But he was still a really poor and unimaginative signing by any criteria. It’s a bit like us signing someone now in the hope  that they’ll be pretty useful when we reach League One.

They was all signed for Cooper.

They will do enough in the Championship, but if we go up then all need replacing.

Stop this bloody 'swamp draining' nonsense re: BDR. There's no evidence of him being anything other than professional. Smacks of stereotyping.

From the few minutes I’ve seen of him for us he’s dreadful on the ball but he’s not the reason we’re in the mess we are.  Like Chris Filter says, there’s no evidence he’s a bad egg in fact he lives near me and his kids play for t he local football club the I coach at, he seems like a really sound bloke and always says hello and is very complimentary of the youth coaches we have helping out with the little ones. Still garbage at football though!
